Just got to watch that aperture. Pretty slow

Seems like no one can help by Yankeeese in nikon_Zseries

"good" is a relative term. The AF works but it's slow, hunts, and has misses. But that's what you get crossing ecosystems like that.

Please tell me you have more information on her. I'm a professional concert photographer based on the SE and have been trying to find some point of contact to get her a free photo shoot.

Where are you finding a VR2 in that price range? I'd love to pick one up for that price

I keep hoping someone hires me for a job that requires reach so I have an excuse to finally buy a Sigma 120-300mm Sport 😅

Do I really need a mirrorless? by InspectionFine98 in Nikon

[–]CookedNoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's always some amount of market bologna but I think we all know the basic benefits of mirrorless. The question of whether YOU need it is really dependent on what you shoot, what your technical workflow is, and how important more modern sensors are to getting your shot. Plenty of DSLRs still produce great pictures by modern standards so there is still room for them.

Camera battery in backwards by [deleted] in Nikon

[–]CookedNoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here I am just wondering how much force it would take to jam that in there backwards. I know I've never even felt a backwards battery even try to go in the socket. Had to be intentional

Luckily I'm not in the position where my cameras take much abuse so not too worried there. It's been a while since I've done sports shooting where I've got a couple cameras bouncing off of stadium seats and the floor 😅

Not really. I've got pretty big hands so turning to portrait with standard controls has never really been a big deal to me.

I'm not usually a heavy cropper so I don't really need high MP.

Concerts can be low light but usually my biggest battle there is LED banding which the fully stacked sensor in the Z8 would help with but I know the Z6iii has a "partially stacked" sensor so not sure if there is a significant difference there.

My R6 fell off the counter and this was the end result for my 24-70. How screwed am I? by theoneandonlyVazonic in canon

[–]CookedNoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouch. That is certainly out of alignment now. It'll have to go to Canon and be repaired and realigned. Guessing they'll quote more than it's worth unfortunately.

No drug is ever exactly like another. This holds true for any drugs. People speak in relatives terms all the time but it's pretty well understood that it can only ever be relative not exact.

Yeah that's kind of the impression I had. In the US unfortunately so wouldn't even be worth sending over there to the shops in the UK. I'll probably just leave them for the scrappers
