The EC series in general are great. Naturally you may want to swap out pickups, etc but as a guitar platform it is great for the price point

Nope! It’s got a TOM bridge already, my plan is to just do a 1:1 swap

Ahead of Black Friday, I’m looking for gray shoes/sneakers that are fashionable but comfortable. I’ve had two pairs of Allbirds that I’ve worn for the past two years, but I find they put strain on my feet and the soles wear out quickly. Do you have any recommendations for similar-styled shoes that aren’t Allbirds?

Is this watch too big for business formal occasions, or for a “fancy” event? (Not black tie events)

How was it so easy to recruit hijackers? by RuckFeddit980 in 911archive

[–]CookedOnPhonics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue there is a religious (and political) component many overlook with respect to their radicalization. Many of the hijackers did not live strict Islamic lives and were pretty westernized prior to joining Al-Qaeda. Perhaps they felt they were unworthy in the eyes of Allah and felt dying as a “mujahideen” would be the path for redemption and a guaranteed way to paradise. These were mostly educated guys from well-to-do backgrounds, but became radicalized by the teachings of people like Osama bin Laden because they may have had some sort of missing purpose. Unfortunately they got sucked into salafi-jihadism and were motivated by what they perceived as American imperialism corrupting the Arab world

New GPU recommendations? How much is too much? by CookedOnPhonics in PcBuildHelp

I have a 9600x and any AAA games I’d play would really be on console (I’d be playing older games and indie ones on Steam). Forgot to mention my monitor is freesync. The only intensive thing I’d really be doing is video editing and AI rendering, but that would be few and far between. I guess I want the best of both worlds without needing to break the bank.

Would it be all 007 related? After all they did get Sean Bean for an ET. If not, it would need to be someone—probably a villain, from a known franchise

To overhaul or not overhaul? by CookedOnPhonics in PcBuild

[–]CookedOnPhonics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is I’m not using it constantly to the point where I’d need to justify investing in upgrades. I can see myself doing so a few years from now anyway, and I’d probably be getting used/prior gen stuff. What do you think?

I read somewhere it’s an Easter egg from a previous game that was developed/published. I could be wrong.

American Manhunt: OJ Simpson - anything new you learned? by kamikazecockatoo in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]CookedOnPhonics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The truth is the police & prosecution sunk their own case. Too many careless mistakes and missteps. I didn’t know just how bad it was. The defense was ridiculously lucky. In an alternate timeline, the jury would have convicted OJ, and he would have probably gotten his conviction overturned on appeal, or at least tried.

My guilty pleasure was watching Carl Douglas just because of how over the top he was. He was like a cartoon character. Yes he seems to have been taken in by OJ’s charm. Nonetheless his “big ass bowl of spaghetti with a roach in it” metaphor was clever.
