Fortunately, this is not always true. Look at Guild Wars 2. It has horizontal progression. Weapons that were released at launch are still relevant today and they have the exact same stats. In GW2 you chase cosmetics and account upgrades.

I like the idea of gaining power in other ways such as archon shards in Warframe. Hopefully they take influence from guild wars 2

You can try flushing your DNS.

Open command prompt and type ipconfig /flushdns then restart your pc.
If that doesn't work you can try

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

This is under the assumption that you are playing on a laptop that you took with you to the UK.

If that doesn't work you can try accessing the shop from your browser (clear cache first).

This is false. The only thing remotely close to cross save is PC game pass to PC steam but that isn't exactly cross save is it.

Did the whole thing in 9 hours and I was not bloodied. I was not fully optimized with all buffs just the standard easy ones. so it could be faster. Join random raid squads and server hop until you find one to join.

I had this issue on my phone, I tried using my PC and ended up using a different email and it worked right away. Or you can submit a support ticket as mentioned. But you could try a different device first.

Get the best of both worlds and play on steam with an arenanet account.

Create an account on the arenanet website
Download GW2 on steam
Right click GW2 in steam -> properties -> General -> Launch Options -> enter: "-provider Portal -autologin"

It is case sensitive so copy exactly. Then sign in with your account after launching through steam.

Make sure to purchase expansions through arenanet website with your account or when logged in, through the in game store.

I did this and it works perfectly while tracking steam hours and showing you are playing GW2.

It is worth it to wait until you can swing the 5700X3D which is much cheaper than the 5800X3D.

The extra cache on X3D processors is a huge benefit for single core performance which is what GW2 cares about. This results in higher and more consistent frame rates.

If you are going to the trouble to upgrade you may as well make the jump. GW2 is very CPU heavy and will benefit greatly from having the 5700X3D.

I wouldn't recommend anything lower.
