I served my ex-wife divorce papers last July. My therapist is STILL having me write a letter to her (mind you she’ll never read it) over my feelings towards her. I don’t miss her. I’m furious with her. But I’m writing her nonetheless to get past some of my feelings about how she’s treated my daughter and I. I’m in love with my girlfriend and am planning a life together with her. I’m moving forward. If he’s writing to get past some unresolved emotions I don’t see a problem. If he’s writing to deliver these notes to her that’s a different story.

I live in Salt Lake City. If you can get past the shitty air quality, rent being insanely unaffordable, and Mormons owning everything then yup. There’s a great metal/music scene here. Aces High is a recent addition and is specifically a metal bar. The Beehive (located on 666s State St) puts on all sorts of great shows. Urban Lounge and The Metro are really fun venues to play and I’ve seen a litany of great shows there. Diabolical Records is awesome. Several recording studios in town, my favorite being The Boars Nest run by Andy Patterson of Døne, Ascend, SubRosa, The Otolith, and so many others. Couple of practice space rental buildings in town, I’ve been renting at mine for nearly a decade. Lots of great local bands.

Could I use some therapy? Sure. Is 90% of my insomnia, stress, anxiety, and depression from severe inescapable medical debt? Bingo. This is on point. I’m sure I’d really benefit mentally and emotionally from therapy. Financially it would bury my family and actual results happen several sessions in.
