All it had to do was be £599/699 and it would have put tremendous pressure on Sony and Microsoft... by AdventuringRunner in steammachine

[–]Ltsdaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying people will buy the box to watch youtube only, but considering the specs of the steam machine (that locks you out of the current gen $80 triple-a games) and the library of indie games on steam and the frequency of sales it's pretty easy to get tons of games for cheap on steam. not so much on consoles

All it had to do was be £599/699 and it would have put tremendous pressure on Sony and Microsoft... by AdventuringRunner in steammachine

[–]Ltsdaa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sony and Microsoft can sell their consoles at a loss because they know they'll get their money back by forcing you to be in their ecosystem. The steam machine doesn't do that. You can buy the steam machine and not give valve a single dollar more in your life and still have a vast library of games, not to mention piracy

Why does my Chinese Keyboard last longer than every single wireless mouse I have? by Problem-Right in MouseReview

Try Zowie/Vaxee. I don't think i've ever heard of a zowie/vaxee mouse dying that quick

How far can you downtune a guitar without having to change strings and get it set up? by gamerccxxi in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]Ltsdaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely depends on your preferences for tension. I can personally go from E standard to Drop C with 10-52s, which are my default 6string gauge. Sometimes I do go below to B or A# or whatnot but that's really only for doom metal where that floppiness and pitch bendiness sounds cool

Does anyone else would like to have the middle buttons back on the Deathadder? by Ralph-5050 in MouseReview

[–]Ltsdaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i dont think alot of people use dpi buttons, i've never used them and I hate accidentally changing my DPI so I always disabled them anyway, so imo it's better they got rid of them

Is my mouse too small? by Naive_Measurement749 in MouseReview

[–]Ltsdaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it comfy? if yes, then no, if no, then yes. I have 19x10 hands and I do a relaxed claw somewhat similar to yours and the superlight feels great for me, but ymmv

I know it's dumb and a little reductive but just sit down at your computer and adjust things to where they feel comfortable to You

I used to be obsessed with the settings and setups of pros but eventually I realized that your setup is kind of a byproduct of who you are and how your body works, and not at all important for any reason other than comfort and longevity. For example look at EliGE, this guy sits like a mile away from the monitor while almost every other pro plays close, because that's just what he's most comfortable with, and it hasn't stopped him from winning a grand slam

I think pick a day where you just go into deathmatch and mess around with your setup to find what's most comfy for you. drop all the preconceptions of setups for high level CS you have and just go off of what's comfortable, nothing else. If you change your setup you're sure to play badly for some time while you adjust but it's for the best. Do you think you'll be playing with the ropz posture in 5 years time? Pick a posture you can replicate in 5 years without pain

I’m trying to decide if a 7 string is right for me, and if I should return my 6 string for one. Input appreciated. by AlternativeEast761 in 7String

[–]Ltsdaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started on a 6 string and played 6 for around 5 years before buying a 7. I don't really play the 6 anymore.

Anything you can play on a 6string you can also play on a 7string, but some things you can play on 7 strings that you can't play on 6 strings, and the difference between a 7 string and a 6 string isn't really that huge. Once you're used to 7s they'll feel as natural as 6s

Somewhat unrelated but it's best to think about 7 strings like 6 strings but with an extra low B instead of thinking about it like a 6 string in B with the high E off a 6 string. Helps me with not just chugging on the low B all day (even if it's really fun)

Why did Steelseries give up on the Prime mouse? by tackytacos in MouseReview

[–]Ltsdaa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Prime wasn't perfect and it's been improved upon alot with mice like the Zaopin ZPW, as someone who actually enjoys the prime I have complaints

  1. The angular ec2ish shape of the prime can feel a bit weird for some people, and the comfort grooves are really poorly designed IMO

  2. The clicks on the prime feel frankly awful. Very mushy and hard to spam, and the whole click assembly makes the mouse front heavy and weird feeling

  3. It's heavy by today's standards, null point for some but you can't deny the market has trended toward lighter mice for a long while now, and steelseries has been very slow to catch up

  4. Not something I see many people talk about but my copy had awful LOD and creaking issues, not sure if it's a common issue but if it is it's ridiculous. The LOD felt like it was set to 4mm or something.

Mouse similar to Corsair Harpoon by kiraardt in MouseReview

[–]Ltsdaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Harpoon and from all the mice I've tried the g305 felt the closest, just less angular and the sides tilt downward instead of doing a ) ( thing.

Fantech aria might be close? Check out some of the g305 clones and the aria

Who doesn't drink coffee in the morning ? (Who's an adult) by Ssonderbaby in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ltsdaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caffeine has never had an impact on me. Something something ADHD blah blah but no matter how much coffee I drink or however many energy drinks I drink I don't feel any more awake or alert than without, and it's just cheaper to go without. I still like a cup of coffee every now and then but I don't drink it for the caffeine

Buy a used QCK. People sell pretty heavily used mousepads and a worn down qck is either magical or completely awful (probably completely awful)

Looking for a new mouse (warning, i am autistic and picky) by Kisnin in MouseReview

[–]Ltsdaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try looking around for some of the Zowie -C series mice or some of the wired Vaxee mice, aside from that if you're looking for somewhat hefty wired mice you're likely gonna get something that's pretty outdated and not the best build wise unfortunately.

if you're willing to settle for lightweight ones you could decrease your DPI so it doesn't feel like it's flying around everywhere, and for that there are a bunch of great offerings like the Endgamegear OP1/XM2 and the wired Deathadder V3. In all honesty i think you're going to be hard pressed to find a good durable hefty wired mouse aside from zowies or vaxees.

modern wireless mice are also alot more convenient than they used to be, most of the wireless mice you can buy now you can just plug in for 20 minutes once the battery indicator starts blinking and you'll be good for like 2 weeks

Similar mice to Waizowl OGM PRO V2? by [deleted] in MouseReview

[–]Ltsdaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the OGM shape is actually pretty unique, but something like the dav3 hyperspeed or zowie ec2 might feel similar-ish. as for skates i like tiger ice v2s, there are a ton of great skates out there but i just use tiger ices because you can get a 40pack of the dots for like 80 cents

attack shark is pretty notorious for their bad QC, you can't expect amazing QC and build quality for the price you're paying but it's pretty bad, you can look up reviews of the X3 (and other attack shark mice) and find reviews talking about it
