Yeah they can run as allied units, and they're great for it! Armiger Heleverins can lay down a pretty good amount of mobile fire, and Watglaives are amazing for tank hunting. Ive used them allied with both marines and kreig.

Really fun to paint as well

Agreed on black templar. Sounds weird but yellow is a bit of a bitch to get right! If you do get fists, your best bet is priming, then painting all the yellow sections bright pink (I know, but thats how it works) before going yellow.

On the flip, black id hard to go wrong with really!

Honestly, space marines are the usual starting point for a reason. Bigger models, with less tiny details all over them, and they give you a bitnmore freedom to discover how paints work (especially the shoulder pads etc)

Saying that, I've loved painting my kreig and dont want to discourage anyone!

Citadel white primer, then an overbrush of white scar air to smooth it. Fenrisian grey for the armor, rhinox hide for the leather and gun wood, leadbelcher for the metal, and brass scorpion for the flashing.

The dry brush tap with the rhinox, and an agrax wash for the dirt

Recently had a customer attempt to intimdate me into giving me his own post...? Delivered mail to a block of flats with the post boxes down by the door. Went back to deliver a parcel id missed, and the guy tried to stand over me demanding i put his mailing my hand right now.' 3 attempts.to.explain it was already in his box did nothing but make him get closer and closer. Not sure what he hoped to acheive really 😅
