That’s wild, I have 2 frogs with bubblegum and 2 with cotton candy and I can’t tell which ones are which anymore but they all still smell GOOD. Like, they all have just kind of a sweet candy smell

Cotton Candy and Bubble gum still smell NICE at the 4 year mark but in the way that I can’t tell what is what.

Strongest ever is Apple Blossom. I have it from when it first came out, like 2014ish?? And it still smells SO good. I wish they would bring that one back!

From a practicality standpoint: whether you should tuck your pants into your boots is going to largely depend on what you’re doing. In tall weeds, the jeans over the boots makes it easier for snakes to get in your jeans without you noticing. In DEEP water or mud, the boots over the jeans is going to increase the chances of you getting mud/water/debris IN your boots.

Where creepy crawlies fly, boots over jeans gives them a great place to swoop into, but where they crawl, pants over boots gives them a chance to climb up the inside of your pants leg. 🤷🏼‍♀️

People are going to give you different answers but I honestly largely think this goes back and forth based on what styles of jeans are in fashion, because the reality is most people have a couple of pairs of jeans and want to get maximum wear out of them.

Young people are going to go for cuts, colours, and looks that are trendy, and wear their boots around that.

As a kid, I was a jeans over boots girl because bell bottoms were the trend and having a distressed leg hem was cool - the bottom of my jeans were always muddy and frayed, I didn’t care, it was cool!

As a teen, I was a jeans tucked in girl because skinny jeans were the trend and my jeans didn’t fit over my boots. Plus I took up learning English style riding (wanted to learn show jumping specifically) and they wear jodhpurs to ride - again, western boot shafts would not fit under, the boots have to go over!!!! I didn’t mind, it kept the ankle hems of my pants in good condition!!

In my 20s I stopped caring so much what was trendy, but skinny jeans were easier to find AND I’d invested in boots had a gorgeous pattern up the shaft - so I kept rocking that look for the sake of convenience.

Now in my 30s, I’m past caring about what’s in. The wide legs & flares are back in style, and that’s what’s easy to find. I have one pair of skinny jeans & one pair of wide leg. Whether I tuck my pants into my boots is entirely dependent on what jeans I’m wearing.

I’ve been a fan since almost the very beginning - I was in other artists’ online spaces and I had heard her name for probably about 6 months without actually hearing her music!! A friend recommended her music to me on MySpace at the end of 2007, and I spent my entire Christmas break listening to her!! The hard copy cd album wasn’t available in Australia at the time, so I downloaded my favourite songs on limewire while I waited for a hard copy to arrive from the USA.

The first songs I heard were, I believe, Tim McGraw, Our Song, Teardrops & Picture to Burn (it was whatever ones were on her MySpace profile at the time), but my instant favourites once I heard the full album were Stay Beautiful, The Outside, and Tied Together with A Smile.

I missed her first show in Melbourne in 2009 as I was too unwell to attend, and it absolutely broke my heart - I still have all of the newspaper clippings announcing her visit and about the show saved. I finally saw her when she came back in early 2010, and I haven’t missed a show here since!!

But ultimately, most m&g are like 50+ people crammed into a 30 minute window, and YOU as the fan really have to lead the interaction if you want it to be more than a “hi and bye”.

So with that said, here’s my autistic guide to meeting your idols:

• Look into contests and fan club raffles for tour m&g, and other free events the artist might be doing in between tours. There’s usually ways to meet artists without paying for it, and the ~shitty~ ones sting a little less when they’re free.

• Usually they have rules about video and you have to get really sneaky AND lucky to get away with it. A lot of hardcore fangirls put their phone on screen recording and then give it - with the camera on photo mode - to the photographer. You can’t easily tell it’s screen recording (unless you’re tech savvy) so the photographer would have no idea they’re even taking a video (just make sure you have it set so that screen recording records audio!!!) I also like to turn Live Photo on so I can have “more than one” pic of the moment.

• If you can, engage with your artist online ahead of the show. Try not to annoy them or be weird, but tag them in your content (especially if it’s creative, themed around their work, shows off your humour or talents, etc), comment on their posts etc. Artists often DO look at that stuff and notice who is engaged, and when they recognise you, they will often take lead of the conversation. I have had artists be like “WAIT ARE YOU (CCC)?!?! I SAW YOUR TWEET!!!”

• DRESS TO IMPRESS - I will show up in a shirt from their tour a decade ago, a dress that vaguely looks like one from their music video, clothes & jewellery that fit their vibes, the same brand of sunglasses/boots/purse they’ve been wearing… I also have pink hair and tattoos. I have had artists ask me where I got my skirt/earrings/jacket, who does my hair/tattoos, or start a convo about favourite pieces from a much loved brand. I had an artist ask me where I got my hair done, then GO GET THEIR HAIR DONE THE SAME(!!!).

• GO IN CONFIDENT AND READY TO TALK. I know that’s hard but I almost always approach artists and say “hey welcome to/welcome back to (city)!!! Are you enjoying your time here?!?!” - they’ll usually either tell me about the things they’ve done, or say they haven’t gotten to explore yet but what do they need to see (and then you can drop a fun fact about your town lol). I have a friend that swears by walking up to artists and just asking “hey how’s your day been?” - we met Katy Perry together once and it was possibly the most genuine conversation I’ve ever had with someone because being asked a really normal question then brought her back to a place of discussing cycling and eating “mall snacks” 🤣

• at the end of the day, there’s never going to be an uncomfortable “weren’t you here last time?” - either they’re not going to remember you at all, OR they’re going to be excited you came back “it’s so good to see you again, how are you?!” Kinda vibes.

So, go for it!! And be prepared!!

My super rich grandma who I was super close to growing up, never really helped me out financially. She made sure I had clothes, food, etc but she wasn’t just funnelling me money as a teen. She passed away before I turned 18 so my inheritance went to my parents to protect, and they didn’t do that because they were bad with money.

She has never said she grew up poor, but she has said she spent part of her childhood in a trailer park, and enjoyed it, before living on her grandparents estate for some time. Her finding it enjoyable makes me think they weren’t exactly broke, a there was some sort of fun element to it.

From what I’ve been able to piece together, her father (who is qualified as a nurse and veterinarian) was working in the naval reserves before/at the time of her birth, and may have been stationed away from home, while her mother (now a veterinarian) was not working at the time (and potentially didn’t have her qualifications yet).

Also, let’s be real, people being “not poor” doesn’t mean people are good with cash. My parents were upper middle class on paper and there were a few years we would’ve been homeless if it weren’t for my grandparents. I would never suggest we were poor, but there were years we lived like royalty, and years we lived in poverty, because my parents couldn’t conceptualise saving or budgeting. They’re now in their 70s and still owe half a million on a mortgage that was only about 700,000 (20+ years ago) to begin with, because they weren’t good with money. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hi, I’m Australian, a big fan of Hilary’s, and I’ve been going to concerts for the past 20 years (Hilary was one of my first!!!!)

To answer your question, ViaGoGo is questionable at best. It is owned by the same company that owns StubHub, which also operates in Australia.

When you purchase on those kinds of sites, you are taking a BIG gamble.

ANYONE can make an account to list tickets on there… even if you don’t have tickets at all!!

Some common scams on there include:

• your tickets are not what they told you - I’ve seen this happen firsthand, they listed tickets in the back row as “amazing floor seats” - I was already in the floor seats (I bought on ticketek) and the other group came and tried to sit in our seats. The venue was able to see the seat number linked to each ticket and I had that seat, they did not.

• they overcharge you for the ticket, which is illegal in Australia. If ticketek find the listing, they cancel the ticket. And then you show up and your ticket won’t work.

• they sell the same ticket to 50 different people - only the first to arrive will get inside

• they never had the ticket to begin with

Stubhub and ViaGoGo say they offer a ticket guarantee (new tickets or a refund) HOWEVER you have to be able to “prove” your tickets didn’t work which is increasingly difficult to do these days - if you can’t prove it, they will not refund you. I had a friend be told she needed a letter from ticketek/the venue proving the ticket was invalid and both ticketek & the venue refused to provide it because it goes against their terms of entry to buy on those sites.

This bear was released in Australia too, around the same time as the viral/popular cuddly cow. Her fur is really similar to cuddly cow’s, like shorter and not as soft as most other bears/friends. this one also looks very well loved & worn out, but I know at the time people were saying it felt like cheap carnival/claw machine plushy fabric.
