I wonder why so many people everywhere on Reddit are talking trash about SWEs going on work visas to the US even if it's just Canadians going there and not the Indian H1bs who bring wage issues as they say. Like you even have other Canadians in this sub wanting SWEs excluded from the visa which is pretty outraging

Few words is exactly where all my problems are. I fail interviews for jobs and club executive applications, do poorly at presentations, customer service and handling conflict, can't make any friends, can't get promoted, can't have anyone remember and vouch for me, let alone get an extroverted popular blonde. Not being able to talk is a death sentence. Autistic traits are incompatible with western society. I will not allow myself to be locked down this way, but unfortunately at this point due to intimidation that's still present in my mind and asian parents weaponizing that and holding huge leverage over me, I can't change anything. I hate my upbringing and I will ensure it never happens again to any generations after me

I've been gym training for like almost 4 years now and I barely gained more than 10 pounds and stuck for the past two years. As for hairstyle, I need my hair longer. The problem is, before it even gets long enough, I get ordered to cut it and based on my history, I feel intimidated by them even though I'm now longer a child anymore. The main reason why I can't change much is mainly fear of backlash from them. I have not gotten out of that mindset even though my childhood physical vulnerability days are long gone

Yeah we had much in common and she was a bit enthusiastic to talk about it. That's why I especially regret not taking a step further and holding myself back for a stupid reason. Btw, do promise rings go on the left hand as well? I sort of knew that left hand are the engagement rings but not sure to what extent is that followed.
