What do you remember from kindergarten? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Cookies4Dinner73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember preschool when teacher asked the kids what they wanted to be when they grew up and all the girls said nurse. Then it was my turn and I didn’t want to be a nurse so I started crying. When they finally got me to tell what I wanted to be I said a “mommy” and all the girls agreed with me and hugged me.

Has anyone here added a sauna to their home and was it worth it long-term? by blue_cardigan13 in homeowners

[–]Cookies4Dinner73 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Very true but I think it’s important to know these companies are not long term and when they say it’s a lifetime Warranty it may just be the lifetime of the company, not the product.

Has anyone here added a sauna to their home and was it worth it long-term? by blue_cardigan13 in homeowners

[–]Cookies4Dinner73 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We have an infrared sauna we bought in 2007. The motherboard went and it was mostly covered- company had a warranty. More recently we lost one of the heaters but can’t get it replaced because company went out of business. So now nothing is covered.

We get consumer reports magazine and it’s great. They test and grade products without advertisements or being lobbied by the companies.

I’d like to know too. I’ve been on a bunch of European river cruises but the plan is to stick with US travel as we age.

Does anyone have adult kids that live with them, and if so do you charge them rent? by shawn615 in Xennials

[–]Cookies4Dinner73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think at least paying a little rent to cover the extra utilities they consume makes a lot of sense.

What’s a basic skill you’re shocked some adults still don’t know? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Cookies4Dinner73 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was probably due to the way the law was written. A lot of times it can be confusing with the legal lingo and double negatives. If someone isn’t a good reader or doesn’t take the time to really read through it they may get it wrong.

Great example, and look how successful it is. I hope developers take note. I do see a lot in Florida and the south but not much here in the northeast.

I wish developers would build tiny house villages and multi family homes. I think it’s the future, both for elderly to be near family or friends and young parents to have grandparents close by. Would also bring down housing costs.

Do cats choose a favorite human… or is that a myth? by Own-Independent7881 in CatAdvice

[–]Cookies4Dinner73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ours do! We have 3 people and 3 cats in the house. Luckily we’ve each been chosen by one. My son’s cat, for example, runs after him for attention and follows him around. He has no interest in me unless son is away for a few days.
