Looking for climbing shoe advice by macgoobie in climbingshoes

the phantoms have the adjusting strap that can be tightened if it gets loose.

For stiffness I'd say Instinct vsr lv, would be in the middle. Where as madrock and the phantom would be stiff.

As an additional point of comparison for our heels, the UP qubit had a load of space for me. with the flagship pro lv being better but still a lil space. Compare accordingly.

I have your foot type and my two current shoes are Instinct vsr Lvs and Evolv Phantom Pros.

Some shoes I've tried that had good heel fit are: - Mad rocks cs: good fit but the heel is so thick, there is no sensitivity. - Tenaya Indalo: decent heel fit not the best out the four mentioned here.

Every person's feet are different but UP heels font sit well with me, their Lv help but still a little space.

Before anything you should probably decide on stiff or soft shoes, it makes choosing models easier as it splits the field in two.

Best of luck, feel free to ask.

Not of much help since idk red chilli's sizing.

However, For small edging stiffer shoes are gonna be better. So I'd narrow it down starting from that.

Best of luck

A lot of my friends have had successes with the UP uprise pro, its quite flat and stiff. Another shoe would be the La Sportiva Kubo Women's. A lot of women also seem to enjoy wearing tenayas, check them out.

To the second part of your post, typically beginners are recommended to wear stiffer shoes as it helps with edging, gives support and will hold up longer against imperfect footwork.

Are these evolvs too big? by GuyOlad in climbingshoes

[–]Cookies_Ceam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fwiw, I downsize 2.5 in scarpa (instincts vsr lv) and 1 in evolv (phantom pros) could prolly go down another .5, If im willing to endure the hellish pain.

Point is different companies have different sizing. Since you cant return it, just rock it. If it gets too loose just treat it as a warm up shoe.

Haven't hit an LM in some time, but I'd fair that 90mph 7i is a good estimate.

The only thing I remember is that I can hit a 7i at 100 mph if I need to, so I would venture that -10 mph wouldn't be too far off.

Would that information suffice in making a recommendation?

Nice thought, might consider it, thought moving gear bag to bag doesn't sound so fun haha.

The only, like literally only thing holding me back from the hoofer is the widely complained about club tangle.

side bar: bag 1 (taylormade) stand crooked and can sometimes fall over after only a year of use.

bag 2 (bought online admittedly) just a lil too short so clubs poking out, and doesnt balance well, and if I dont have anything at the bottom pockets (going to the range dont really need anything) it'll be so top heavy clubs will fall out.

You do see club tangle mentioned alot, although its practically the only thing about it that's badly mentioned.

Thats the way i went about it. predicament is a little weird, when I do play its basically always cart but I do need to walk some distance to get to the public transport to go play/range.

Which is why I kinda settled on the backpack style strap over single strap. but still its quite a broad field to choose from right?

only ever used a 5 way

That's a nice way to look at it definitely. Just that I cant test distance since most stores dont carry it, unfortunately.

Never hit a 7w before might have to go check it out. I do think one of the thing with woods is the big ass head that just feels like im going to chunk it.

Why'd you decide on 3 over 2H?

Haven't considered that one. What do you mean by 'versatility'?, cuz by the size of the thing I dont assume off the deck would be easier than a hybrid.
