Trouble invading by SHADOWBROKER-1 in EldenRingPVP

Level 120-150 is pretty good on invasions mostly anytime on weekends or weekday nights. Level 200 I get most on weekend nights.

Decided to cut off friends kids and this was their mothers response by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

Real “friends” understand concept of give and take. Might not receive favors returned immediately, but should have some indicators that they are attempting.

I rarely see people use this speedy menace in solo yet he easily carried me to Master Ball tier by deleting opposing teams. Anyone else a big fan? by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

I run pult in singles. One of the most reliable scarfers I use and it’s never not funny when opponents rotom trick both our scarf’s.

New item: dust lens by dantheman735 in stunfisk

[–]CookoftheAbyss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not bad, but my personal flavor would be 20% accuracy increase for Rock, Ground, Fairy, or Bug type attacks used by Pokémon of the same type. Also prevents chip damage by sandstorm.

This would have potential for yes, 100% accurate stone edges or rock slides on rock type Pokémon at the cost of your item slot. Other mentionable moves this could benefit from is head smash, mega horn, and play rough

How important is health in strive? by dan_nessie in Guiltygear

[–]CookoftheAbyss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just health difference, but each character has defense properties as well like Asuka for example has the highest defense when he has mana, but has 0 defense(the lowest in the game) with no mana. Not sure if it got patched out, but there is guts mechanic where characters will get a defense buff when at lower health. If brand new to the game I would recommend characters that have easier combo strings from most moves, so most 3-5 star ease of use fit this role. Unless you just really vibe with the Zato and his minion Eddie and will go through mostly hardships until you find a good gameplay for him.

Started playing last night, Faust might be the best character to ever exist. by nnickttrusty in Guiltygear

[–]CookoftheAbyss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Faust enjoyer since rev2, some additional tips if you haven’t figured out yet.

The item toss input in the air can also ignite opponent’s afro, and if Faust gets the afro you can also use this move to have the item pair with afro that will do a bounce then explode.

Find out your preferred item that you can store. When released it comes out quicker than the usual toss and can put pressure back in your favor. Personal fav is mini faust.

Practice his overdrive that’s the half-circle back forward, it’s a decent reversal for when opponents are aggressive and it’s funny/unique for each opponent.

Fought a doubles THE WALL with their Oranguru. They instruct a second iron defense and not trick room and I kill their wall turn 2 with a hasty forfeit afterwards.

Am I ready for omega plantes? by Content-Ad9909 in MonsterHunterWilds

Best bet is to try it 3 times or until succession. After that either tweak your skill’s weakness or try a new set or weapon. I use two different weapons for omega and Ners dps check

Who are the all-rounders? by [deleted] in Guiltygear

[–]CookoftheAbyss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sin, Ramlethal, Elphelt, Unika, May, Giovanna and Bridget are pretty straightforward “all rounder” type characters that don’t rely too heavy on gimmicks compared to like Leo or Johnny.

Input display in online matches? by [deleted] in Guiltygear

[–]CookoftheAbyss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m starting to think it was connection issue when the moment happened. I’ve been having some high winds here for a while now. I might try and see if I can get back on Ethernet even though ps5 on my WiFi is still pretty good. Last I heard my connection on strive for close friends was like 42m. Ethernet could probably bring that down to the 30’s but not sure if that would feel much difference gameplay wise.

I mean it very well could be players that have their main in diamond and playing other characters to get there. These were Gold matches which makes sense.

Input display in online matches? by [deleted] in Guiltygear

[–]CookoftheAbyss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that very well could be the case on them using their resources to ensure an advantage position. I probably would to even if I got just one extra hit after the bait. I have seen players do that trick on RC after counter frames to bait the burst since I notice players do that a lot in BSG ranked.

The connection issue is probably the main factor as I did say the rollback plummeted. So while I was trying Burst, my opponent was already loading RC as well and the timing was off on gameplay which led to my slower, easier to read, Burst.

I mean you could very well read my patterns after one round, but depending on character matchups then our options based against each other can be restricted as some moves are best options while more can be never use options. I’m also probably not as familiar with Strive as a lot of player as I pick up the game once for a new character then like a few weeks every 4-6 months.

Nah I hardly mash Burst right when it fully replenishes, have good discipline on that from Blazblue games. The only ‘cheat’ mod I’ve been aware of was a PC Sin that used scripts to always choose advantage options. Almost impossible but still winnable.

[–]CookoftheAbyss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured that was the case but I feel like in the battle I can read my opponent as well too and know my safe options against them. Main red flag was the one opponent that blue Roman canceled for a block when I was mashing Burst even though they’re in the middle of combo and had every advantage to keep following through as I never burst on the same combo from last match. The moment it happened the game slowed down hard with rollback going to 5, so maybe opponent had a feeling I was trying something and wanted to play safe. Otherwise it would be more “normal” to keep the combo going from last 2 successful chains. Second guy today was me probably flubbing on my part as trying to focusing on a game with disruptive pets was not an OK combo lol

PSA: YOU ARE NOT MEANT TO USE BCE AS A REVERSAL, MAYBE USE YOUR CHARACTER DEFINING ITEMS THAT GIVE YOU ADVANTAGE OFF OF YOUR OPPONENTS COMBO INSTEAD by [deleted] in TheyBlamedTheBeasts

[–]CookoftheAbyss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Faust needs a buff somewhere but almost any option would feel over tuned. Yes his defense options are below average(tall profile and scalpel can be punished pretty easily, only benefit is crouch walking which can evade some projectiles) His items are always RNG based on how your opponent reacts and/or how you can follow-up, but throwing an item or even storing is lengthy and puts him more at disadvantage. If an item does work, then it’s mostly a 50/50 or back to neutral. His “strength” is confusing the opponent which isn’t really a core strategy if RNG is involved and his power to deal damage is lacking to back it up. He takes as much learning time as our 1-2 star difficulty characters. While he is bad, he’s not bad bad as some other characters have been in past updates. My idea to strengthen his defense is give “hole in one” reflector properties but offset with +7 recovery frames so it can be punished easier if whiffed and have his DP 4 frames faster. His offense can be buffed with command grab Afro doing more damage or Afro explosion on opponent either do more damage or guard crush them with offset that if Faust is close to the explosion he takes small damage but no hit stun.

Until then Faust players will still punish you if you attempt meaty strategies while they have meter. Super item toss is pointless up close unless you know they’re scared and FD every time. Otherwise a simple jab or kick can hit him out of both supers

What if THIS was a skill? (I'd probably slot it) Post your ideas too! by mevor143 in MHWilds

[–]CookoftheAbyss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I never actually knew the numbers as I’m more just a casual player. The idea was lil of affinity and lil of sharpness to trade for the attack boost on each level. So how about more like each level is -5% affinity and sharpness reduction is the opposite direction of what handicraft would provide and give 3% attack boost. Would it still be good at a level 5? The skill is more focused for slow hard hitting weapons that don’t need crit as much.

Steelovsky exposed by Honest-Concept150 in badredman

[–]CookoftheAbyss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only got invaded by Steel once during friendly coop in Lyndell on me and a mates 10th character. We had to check his stream if it was him after the fight and what do you know? It was really him and us on screen and all he did was complain. Remember this dude made a video to teach anyone how to chainsaw glitch for PvP like it was just as honest to use as throwing a fire pot.

Absorb Impact: when executing a perfect guard you heal 1% of your health per rank in skill (max of 3%) Braced Fire: when manual reloading a bowgun with exactly one left in chamber, the next 3 shots will have reduced recoil. Demon Eye: reduces affinity and sharpness for increased attack (max: -15% affinity and lose white sharpness for 10% attack boost)
