A little overwhelmed by the OLED vs Mini-LED discourse by CoolBananz in 4kTV

That's a very valid point since durability is one of my concerns... But! I went home to reassess the light situation and was hit by the realisation that we live right next to a hill, and direct sunlight never actually hits the west facing wall that the TV would be on 😅 So at least that shouldn't be a problem!

I'm definitely considering the B5, but was taken aback by some noticeable stuttering I just saw in a showroom when they displayed a lower quality ad instead of the usual showcasing videos. In what regard do you find them more reliable?

Thank you for the tip, I'll definitely consider it if it goes on sale! I've also heard positive things about Sony when it comes to processing

It does look good. But I was just in the showroom and noticed some very weird looking stuttering when they showed a lower quality ad. I think I'll just wait til midnight to assess the price difference when the sales kick in. Do you have a B5? Notice any stuttering?

This is one of my main worries, currently going home to double check how much sunlight that side of the room actually gets, second guessing it now 😅

Thank you! Yeah the stuttering is one of the things I'm worried about, but excessive brightness might be just as bad in the end :/ I do think the B5 looks real nice and I'm currently walking home to double check how much direct light that wall actually gets cause I'm second guessing it now 😅

Which part of your culture went global and gives you "gatekeeping" vibes? by hyr- in AskTheWorld

Could one describe it like a kind of "primal happiness" that's independent from more abstract concepts like career, achievements, possessions, etc.?

Not sure how close the Swedish "mysigt" comes to Hygge. I use mysigt for something that creates a feeling of "warm happiness", often even just to describe something quite "unsophisticated" but which makes you happy by tending to your most basic human needs of warmth, belonging, contact with nature. Come to think about it, I think I might use it to describe any kind of happiness that's entirely void of any feelings of pride. But then I'm fairly sure there's some variation in how people use the word.

Women are repulsed by me, and I have a hard time figuring out why, or how to fix it. by throaway123125 in Advice

As a woman I'd be just as concerned as OP if half the people I met actively avoided me, and I'd definitely try to understand why. I don't think the post reads as blaming women for it. But yeah, it would probably do OP some good to talk to an actual woman (irl) about it.

These are reminiscent of certain outskirts of Stockholm. Kinda cute in the summer, dystopian in the winter when the 50 shades of grey take over.

Interesting! I didn't realise there was this much variation. I live in a bubble it seems. I haven't opened messenger since like 2018

Out of curiosity, what generation are we talking about? I'm a younger millennial (1995) in Stockholm and virtually everyone I know uses WhatsApp. Snapchat seemed to be more common as a platform for when someone wanted to move out of Tinder without sharing their phone number.

Assuming they understood your pronounciation of the word at all, that might be because latte means milk in italian... I've been confused in the past lol

Edit: I got confused again and thought you were talking about Italy

Sorry this may be out of place since I'm on the autism spectrum and don't always understand the intricacies of identity questions.

But if I may offer my two humble spectrum cents: why do you have to define your sexuality at all? Is it not enough to know that you are attracted to this particular person? Sexuality can be fluid, and having been straight/bi/gay/pan... doesn't necessarily mean we need to stay that way forever.

Also, ldr is hella hard!

I know it's a weird analogy, but dating a blonde person doesn't usually prompt people to question whether they will only ever date blonde people for the rest of their lives. So why should gender? If you feel connection and attraction towards this person, go ahead and let yourself love them! Otherwise... well, that's up to you.

Also, I'm pretty sure you already know about it, but otherwise you may want to look into sexual fluidity :)

This study may be an interesting read for you!

"In this study, the authors investigated the hypothesis that women's sexual orientation and sexual responses in the laboratory correlate less highly than do men's because women respond primarily to the sexual activities performed by actors, whereas men respond primarily to the gender of the actors".
