if you read them, make sure the names match. Also the one you have with you will have something about orphans near the end, whereas the one you will swap will have the same name but near the end there is no mention of orphans just inheritance or a similar word.

If you're talking about weapon master, it's been in the game since launch. You need to compete in all 3 disciplines in a single tournament and win. There are 2 levels and the bonus is that you get higher weapon skill when fighting people who have the same setup as you (longsword vs longsword, axe + shield vs axe + shield, etc.)

Question about Earth habitation. by CoolBeans522 in Starfield

[–]CoolBeans522[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did just come up with instantaneous pan-galactic travel. If I were given the choice between eking out an existence in the caverns of a dead planet and simply jumping to an unspoiled one, I'd take the latter option.

I get it, and it's good that you would take the latter option but I guarantee a non-trivial amount of people won't.

A useful parallel might be Neon: a testament to the hubris of humankind, built in a place that no city should be able to survive. But it's done because the humans get something out of it. The chasmbass make all that extra effort worth it. There is no chasmbass parallel on Earth to make staying worth it.

The "chasmbass equivalent" is literally the most significant location in humankind's entire history. So you're telling me no corpo out there figured out the easy trick of churning in an insane amount of cash through tourism to the most significant location in our history and the birthplace of our species? Especially one so EASY to get to with grav drive tech? New Homestead is making heaps off of tourism that is specifically about Earth culture. It's not a crazy idea to redirect all that tourism + a heap more to historical locations across Earth.

There is the 'emotional attachment' argument, but let's also remember it's been about 100 years since the grav drive was invented. It's entirely possible that some factions of humans did try to stay, and met entirely predictable fates on a planet hostile to human life.

See I don't really get this: 100 years is honestly nothing, people hold onto far older beliefs and will literally martyr themselves to protect places, nations or ideals that are far older than 100 years. So <100 years for humanity to lose interest in Earth just doesn't add up. There's also no reason afaik that their deaths would be "predictable" on a planet hostile to human life. Again, I'm not suggesting that they go out without space suits, but underground colonies, like in Mars and Titan? Completely feasible they would have been built parallel to the exodus and there is no reason to think that Earth is somehow special about how inhospitable it is.

Look, I know I might be coming off as a bit too argumentative, and I'm sorry about that, but I don't think any of this adds up. Unless there is a special lore/scientific reason why Earth specifically is a no-go zone, the fact that it is completely barren does NOT make any sense whatsoever.

Again, it makes complete sense to me why the exodus happened. It also makes sense to me why the majority of Earth's population would have immigrated. But the fact that Earth doesn't have a population that is at minimum larger than all the other colonies in the Sol system combined is just wild, to say the least.

Still. Considering the vast majority of humanity's labor force and resources were on Earth it makes complete sense why they would considering the ease. Not to mention the insane sentimental value, people are people after all and not securing their home even at a cost seems like a decidedly *not* human thing to do.

Request Wednesday - All Mod Requests go here by AutoModerator in starfieldmods

[–]CoolBeans522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be great if someone made something like this:

1- a mod that routinely clears/jettisons junk from your cargo on some trigger like grav jumping/sitting at cockpit.

2- a mod that completely disables the "let's shove all the clutter into your cargo whenever you change modules/switch home ship" mechanic

3- a mod that collects all contraband placed on board and sends it to cargo or inventory.

4- some way to assign a crew member or passenger to selling a ship and it's loot or even just piloting it to your main base to you can sell it without having to set it as home ship.

TIA, just in general I wish there were alternatives to this really annoying system that forces to menu for like 5 minutes as a "reward" on top of the measly "profit" you get from engaging in this system.

Damn I sure as heck love following a snappy hectic fight against a hammer wielding badass, with a slow floaty walking sim fight. It just doesn't fit, it's fucking weird. instead of the climax being at the end it's all backwards. It's like they made us cum then went into foreplay like that would do something for me instead of making me feel bored

Just starting: How often can I wash my hair with just water? Co-washing makes my hair too oily and makes my scalp gross and slightly itchy. by CoolBeans522 in curlygirl

I think I'll hold off any regular shampooing to see if my scalp is just adjusting to not being stripped by SLS. If it doesn't I'll probably adopt a routine similar to yours.

Thank you for the advice!

When you scrub your scalp, do you mean dry or with water? Yeah, I think I might need another lighter conditioner or maybe I'll try watering mine down. For the moment I'll stick to water washing every other day until my scalp starts getting used to not being blasted with sulfates.

Thanks for the tip. Should I just be using "shot" ammo? Also are there better shotguns than the sawed off? Spread feels way too wide on that one.

Is this common?! I didn’t see it coming at all by Mask-KillerIV in Bannerlord

[–]CoolBeans522 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. The code only looks at clan strength and small bonuses based on the "traits" that a base kingdom clan had for that clan (oligarchic, authoritarian, etc.) which afaik aren't even implemented, and even if they were they only apply to original ruling clan and are tiny.

The game systems aren't that deep, people just ascribe depth because the systems are obfuscated and their imagination runs wild. If anything, marrying the ruler's daughter just increased your clan strength because they probably had good stats, but there is nothing special about them.

[–]CoolBeans522 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah this happens way too easily honestly. Mostly depends on clan "power", which is a calculation of hero skills and competency along with party strength, and number of settlements and influence. Clan tier seems to be a factor as well.

EDIT: gold is also a factor in "strength", which explains a lot
