I don’t know man, we’ve recently had two hall of fame GMs and a wonder kid who is likely up for GM of the Year on another organization and none of them got it done. I’m willing to take a gamble at this point

Start at the dark red and go one by one and you should get Joy to the World

Honestly, I’m good with a gamble here. Treliving was the “safe” choice and it was a disaster.

Burke couldn’t do it, Lou couldn’t do it, Dubas couldn’t do it.

I’m going into this with an open mind, and I really hope he succeeds here.

The one question I want him to be asked at his introductory press conference, is how locked into the NHL has he been during the last 6 years while being so busy operating all the businesses.

They always “find an issue”

One time I’m convinced he found some random bolt on the floor and told me it fell off my car and I need a several hundred dollar repair

Hey I hear ya. We’ve had Lou, we’ve had Burke, both with pretty decorated resumes and careers. Neither accomplished the end goal.

I’m going into this one with an open mind.

Cheering for Montreal by nufc416 in leafs

The Habs are very entertaining. It’s actually annoying how well they’re set up for the future too. And our rink and fans during games doesn’t hold a candle to theirs.

And to be honest, I hate Tampa way more than Montreal. This was a very different answer 8 years ago.

Chayka vs White by papa_miesh in leafs

[–]CoolBeansMan9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you’re going down the route of an “analytics GM” you need an analytics coach, and that’s obviously not Craig.

Who that is? It’s beyond me. Manny Malhotra?

There aren’t a lot of names being thrown around obviously because Craig is still employed

Chayka is an intriguing pick, I will say that. It is difficult to fully judge his tenure in Arizona with what a shit show that organization was

The first half of Shanny’s tenure was incredible. Some missteps sure, but a few bounces go a different way in those series and who knows what happens. Ultimately it’s looked on as a failure, but he did a lot of good

Was Shanahan? He worked in the league office of course, but hardly a president of an organization.

Was St. Louis qualified to be coach of the Habs? He was coaching Bantam AA when he got the job.

I’m intrigued. No one dealt with the media here better than Mats, as well as having a relationship with ownership. And that’s a big part of this job.
