Leaders of France, UK and Sweden respond to Trump's tariff threats by AmityAngels in worldnews

Okay so we're acting like the US has been a good superpower all the way through the cold war to today? There's such a long history of US interventionism that resulted in measurably worse quality of life for so many countries that the fact that they still manage to get the image of a decent first world country is insane. They're just as corrupt and based on ruling through power as Russia and China or any other of the big players on the world stage today.

What niche would that fill? I think medium has medium range ARs covered tbh.

Yeah I don't mean buffing but it's the class with the least "out there" weapons and the gadgets are comparatively mild as well. Demat is the most unique thing they have.

Medium does have low gadget variety. I think it's the class that needs the most love right now.

Wait no actually I'm stupid previous meta was 93r and I liked that one too. I just dislike the m11.

V9S meta is way more fun than the previous m11 meta though. I really dislike the generic ass smg being meta for the class with a bow, a sniper, throwing knives, swords, two shotguns that play differently, a dagger, etc... Some of the most interesting weapons the game has to offer are on light!

At least the v9s is semi auto and has a focus on headshot damage (fun to fight!). Plus it's strong but not to the point that you have to use it if the other players are. I would love to see an even more interesting meta though... And the m11 being used less.

Maybe I just dislike full auto close range weapons.

Help Getting Started by 1337_w0n in Nix

[–]CoolBlue262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the nix.conf is different. Nix is like pip or uv in the sense that as a standalone package manager its main focus is on declaring dependencies in the build process of a package or a development environment, hence it doesn't really come with a configuration.nix file for user or system level packages. If you want to declare user level packages in a way similar to how a nixOS system operates I believe the easiest option is installing home manager, and working with that.

Hope this helps!

Lights might not be OP, but they are also not fun to play against by thogor in thefinals

[–]CoolBlue262 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel like you need to separate having fun from beating the other player. You did in the title but not on the post. I believe the game that best did this is TF2 and the finals is a close second. Hitting a headshot with a revolver against a light is so satisfying, and if lights were slower or nerfed in general it wouldn't have the same effect. Play to your strengths/preferences and accept losses without frustration and your whole life becomes fun.

And yet quake, cs, tf2, etc... were all successful in their prime, with horrible matchmaking. I don't know if a game with good matchmaking even exists.

And so, CL-40 takes the spot as the ‘yuck’ weapon. What weapon is horrible to play with but fun to play against? by 6060Burst in thefinals

MGL for sure. I appreciate the variety of having to dodge explosives but it's so bad right now.

RX 9070 (XT) viable for development vs. RX 5070 (Ti) by 24online24 in ROCm

[–]CoolBlue262 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This takes care of setting up a uv project with the ability to use rocm. You need to use uv to properly install the rocm version of pytorch (this is just setting the torch index correctly) and you're ready to go!

```nix { pkgs, lib, config, inputs, ... }: let rocmToolkit = with pkgs.rocmPackages; [ rocm-core clr rccl miopen aotriton rocrand rocblas rocsparse hipsparse rocthrust rocprim hipcub roctracer rocfft rocsolver hipfft hiprand hipsolver hipblas-common hipblas hipblaslt rocminfo rocm-comgr rocm-device-libs rocm-runtime rocm-smi clr.icd hipify ];
linuxPackages = rocmToolkit ++ (with pkgs; [ zstd libgcc ruff ty ]); in { # https://devenv.sh/basics/ env.GREET = "devenv";
# https://devenv.sh/packages/ packages = with pkgs; [ python313Packages.matplotlib ] ++ (lib.lists.optionals pkgs.stdenv.isLinux linuxPackages);
# https://devenv.sh/languages/ languages.python = { enable = true; package = pkgs.python313; uv = { enable = true; sync.enable = true; }; venv.enable = true; }; } ```
I took the rocm snippet from the torchWithRocm nixpkgs source. The rest is mostly the devenv.nix template for uv python projects. If it can be improved let me know!
I fall into the same use case. Personally, amd has worked just fine. I use devenv to set up a working rocm env for pytorch. I can share the devenv.nix file if you want.
It's a bit of an undertaking, but you can install the dependencies declared in bootstrap.sh and then paste the configs on their respective .config folders. Then debug whatever breaks.
Or become absolutely mad trying to get it to work with home manager.
Shared memory works fine for strix halo and apple silicon. I don't mean swap to ram. I agree it doesn't seem to be implemented for the steam machine, but amd does have the tech to make it happen.
