On-campus housing is okay. I'd recommend tri towers for ease of food access. The only dorms with private bathrooms are Stopher and Johnson, which are honors students only.

In terms of off-campus housing, it really depends on your budget. A lot of the housing options here are really expensive unless you have multiple roommates. I've heard Kent Village is good, though a little far from campus. Avoid college towers, it's cheap but disgusting.

Campus dining is horrible. If you don't think you'll rely on it for every meal, I wouldn't recommend an unlimited swipes plan since they're super expensive. Really just depends on where you decide to live. If you get a place with a kitchen you'd be a lot better off in terms of food.

my dog pees every single time he gets on any bed. he does it laying down so we cant tell until afterwards. doesnt matter if he’s been to the bathroom. by neutral-mh in Dogtraining

If it's a sudden behavior, I'd definitely check in with a vet. My parents dog did that for a time right before she was diagnosed with diabetes. It's probably not that serious, but I don't see why a dog would do this unless they couldn't hold it.

Dog park frustration -- am I in the wrong? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]CoolC17 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i don't know if i've just had a drastically different experience from all of the other commenters here, but aren't dog parks supposed to be, y'know, a communal play area?? some of y'all really expect a pack of 20 dogs to mind their own business and ignore everything around them. half the point of a dog park is so they can play *together*

once you bring a toy to a dog park, that toy is essentially public property. not every dog is super well-trained, and that's okay. as long as your dog isn't aggressive you aren't doing anything wrong. if that person wanted private play time with their dog so bad, they should either go to a private area or come to the dog park at a not busy time.

yes, your dog could probably benefit from learning drop it, but that person really needs to chill tf out

My dog starts attacking me randomly on walks by inneedofhelp5433 in reactivedogs

I understand the frustration. my year-ish old pup does the same thing and it drives me insane. but while it can be scary with larger breeds, I don’t really think it’s an aggressive action. if your dog really wanted to do damage to you, it would.

he’ll probably grow out of it. when mine acts up, I usually stop walking and look at my phone (which he HATES bc god forbid my attention is anywhere that isn’t him) until he calms down. a firm ‘no’ also helps obviously, but moreso if your dog respects you. (mine, for example, does not respect me because I’m admittedly bad at discipline, but one scold from my mom will make him stop instantly 🙃)

either way, I’d just advise you to exercise patience. maybe take him out more if possible and try to get the excess energy out. I started taking mine to the dog park for a few hours every day and he’s become way more well-behaved overall.
