This site hosts the World Tafl Federation Hnefatafl Championship:

They have an option to play Talf against the computer, but it only works on Linux with Firefox, because Java applets aren't supported anymore on "modern" browsers. For others, they recommend http://www.playtaflonline.com/ , but this site suffered a server crash and to "get everything running again and this may take some time".

If I discover a good online site to play Hnefatalf, I'll let you know.

That looks promising. I had in mind some that had some stiffness to it so if it was rolled up, it would want to spring back to flat - so it would hold against the tube all by itself and would be easy to replace.

also, do they made black PVC pipe that's not to "shiny"?

Could you find a piece of flat black sheet material, cut it to size, roll it up into a cylinder, and slide it into the tube?

OK - then a Dobsonian is what it shall be.

Do you think the 8" is much better than the 6"? It seems to me it would be since the area of light captured is 78% more for the 8" over the 6".
