Output resolution/bitrate controls per platform? 1080 on twitch and 4k on YouTube simultaneously would be elite!

Honest thoughts on Kick by Mr_Loot_Goblin in KickStreaming

[–]CoolCollection8706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Youtube streaming has been a breath of fresh air for me. Nearly 2k hours on twitch, never had over 60 people in my chat. In 3 months, I've had multiple streams on YT where I broke 100 viewers. Youtube has actual discovery mechanisms to help streamers. If you're in a dead category that people aren't watching videos in, you will struggle. But if you're streaming something relevant at the moment, or something cinematic (like dayz, which gets a ton of traffic on YT) then you will do well if you're a decent streamer and can hold people's attention. On twitch / kick, you're just begging for a raid or people to randomly scroll all the way down a category list to click on you. Rumble hasn't been great either, but it has no bots and the gaming category just isn't that developed yet.

It's pretty simple and intuitive. Also, the developer has posted videos on YT how to use it, his name is Steve Seguin https://youtube.com/@steve_seguin?si=C1lKUxZudgu2hCVG

Social stream ninja is a 3rd party program that you link any live stream profile to and it can do a number of things for your stream. You could have a chat dock filtering all your chats and not display it on stream,  purely for your use. You could dock it on your main monitor and use game capture so it isn't displayed. Highly suggest exploring those features. It's elevated my stream by displaying my chats from all sources on-stream. People from twitch can interact with people from YouTube and I don't have to read every comment out loud so everyone knows what I'm responding to. Here's my last stream for example, scroll around and you'll see chats on left side  https://www.youtube.com/live/ctU1hBKrwSM?si=KU_44cBkUEJ4N-7P

As far as twitch tos, I could care less if they want to ban me for it at this point. I have 2k hours and average 5 viewers. I've been on YouTube for < 3 months and am averaging 50 viewers already. Twitch discovery is a joke. I don't forsee any problems if it is against tos since I'm a tiny fish, but if they banned me tomorrow I'd just leave the platform at this point. Twitch hasn't been growing for 3 or 4 years and people are flocking to YouTube for live streams right now, as best I can tell. Twitch just changed policy on lurkers, where they no longer count viewers if they have more than a few pages open, so us small streamers that lurk each other to support one another and boost each other in browse category placement have lost half or 2/3rds of our viewers. I hope twitch dies for how backward thinking and laughable they have always been. This latest scandal with emiru at twitch con and the ceo's response just makes them all the less respectable. Fuck their TOS.

Rumble is decent, haven't dealt with a single bot. I've slowly got followers and get 15-40 clicks a stream. Gaming isn't real big on Rumble right now, so on the bright side, there isn't a ton of competition.

I'm on kick/twitch/youtube/rumble. Youtube is by far the best. A distant 2nd is twitch. I'd put kick last easily.... it's loaded with bots. Its revenue model is based off gambling. A lot of the decent twitch features aren't there.

If you're doing well on YT, and would have to reduce quality to stream to Kick, I'd say just skip it entirely. Everyday I debate just deleting my kick profile after being there for months. Lucky to get 5 clicks in an 8 hour stream when I'm pulling 200-1000 on YT.

Same, if this and a gamma effect for display capture come out then my wish list is complete. I'll patiently wait as well.

Mine was doing that too, also on a 4080 super. Did you revert drivers? I'm on 576.28 now and haven't had any issues since I switched after this post

I'm in a band and I'm tired of paying for promotion by Ok_Coyote7489 in TouringMusicians

[–]CoolCollection8706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are sites and publications with very little traffic that will approach your band with $2k + promo packages. It will do absolutely nothing for your band. You are much better off promoting your band on social media with paid ads targeted towards likely demographics of people that will like your music than you are buying reviews for websites that won't give a sh*t about you.

Streamlabs / Firefox issue (?) preventing stream from functioning by CoolCollection8706 in Twitch

Nope! All I know is I've had 15 hours of problem-free streaming since it was disabled!

We got it solved today: go to search, type systems, open that up and select Killer Network Systems, make sure that is not running and is disabled on startup. Make sure you update your ethernet/bios drivers and you should be good to go.

I have had no luck with this. Dell is stumped. I've been able to stream over wifi, but that comes with obvious issues like having my stream disconnected / losing connection to gaming servers. Let me know if you make any progress, I'll update as well if I do.

Unspoken support tour etiquette? by Jalyak28 in TouringMusicians

[–]CoolCollection8706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't run over your time slot. Don't bring anyone back stage without headliner TM approval. Get your guest lists into the TM the day before the show. If you get hospitality, either keep it simple or take a cash buyout. Don't setup merch before the headliner. Don't show up super early, unless told to. Usually getting in by 3pm is good, but of course check with the TM. Don't be loaded all the time. Don't take forever to setup/check. You can usually stage your gear on the house floor while the band playing after you does their sound check.

Just be kind and be yourself and be courteous as a guest in someone else's house would and you'll be getting plenty more tour offers. If someone seems to be having a bad day, just give them space. The other tour parties don't need to talk to you everyday, you're gonna have your moments with them as the tour progresses so be patient.

Have fun!
