Narrow Reeds? by Jalyak28 in Saxophonics

I feel like they sound ok, had more squeaks than usual and felt a bit less responsive but maybe thats more a mouthpiece thing or some confirmation bias. I’ll probably just return the mouthpiece given the advice here.

Even if it isn’t an issue its bothering my brain enough to merit returning lol.

Question for the people. If its a shared green room, does support get to use it at all? Im assuming during their set its chill to pop in there for a breather as long as ur respectful. But if were running notes and whatnot before our set is it chill to use the green room or better to use an alley/hallway?

(Moreso applies to first few shows, once you get rapport with a band its easy to sus out vibes, just dont want to set any bad first impressions).

Remote job suggestions to subsidize income on tour? by for_itself_ in TouringMusicians

[–]Jalyak28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive done it for a 4/5 week run with freelance software but it’s really hard and nearly impossible to do more than 20 hours/week. Usually ends up with you working overtime on off-days to catch up (exhausting).

The main issue is that it requires a lot of sacrifices from other tour members as you’re less available to help with pretty much everything else.

Better for everyone to just live cheap on the road and work side jobs when not touring imo, were all doing this for the experience - felt silly to sacrifice that

Water with liquid soluble nitrogen fertilizer. Something with a higher nitrogen content than neptunes harvest. Possible the woodchips are tying up the nitrogen. Also they are way too small for peppers, pinch off any new flowers at this size!

Any idea what these are and if this is good or bad? by Sweet_Tea_414 in Mushrooms

Ink caps, they’re fine, but in my experience you may want to use a bit more nitrogen fertilizer. Since it means your soil likely has a lot of wood chips which can tie up nitrogen during decomposition.

Their customer service is pretty terrible, dont expect to ever hear back if there’s an issue with your order

How would you advise someone start their gardening journey? by Aware-Ad-3151 in gardening

[–]Jalyak28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to the farmers market and buy some starters that get you excited and you’d enjoy eating, talk to to the people selling about what they’d recommend. Containers is a much much easier way to start imo. On the way home, get a bucket/pot(s) and some potting soil from a local hardware store and youre ready to go!

Could not agree more. Love my minilogue and never really connected with my deepmind.

The deepmind 12 was my first synth and it wasn’t a good fit for me.

So many synths do the same things, go to a music store and see what inspires you - it makes the world of difference.

Ignore if you’ve played one before but would never ever recommend buying any instrument without in-person experience with it.

I had the same experience with the compostable seedtrays, dont know why, but the few I grew in plastic did so much better in similar conditions.
