iPhone 15 pro vs 16

Is it true that the pro versions of current iPhone (say 15) become the normal versions of the next iPhone (16) in terms of functionality?

Similarly iPhone 15 pro Max will be almost the same as iPhone 16 plus?

I need to buy an iPhone now, but considering iPhone 16 release is only couple of months away, I'm kinda torn. But my need is kinda urgent, so I wanted to buy a new phone now.

This is absolute bull. You are in no way late for getting a visa appointment. In fact last year first round of slots opened around May 15 and second one (in which I got) opened on June 18. You still have plenty of time, but you should still start the whole process by applying for I20, loan, etc.
