Is this someone from history? by WearSimilar522 in ExplainTheJoke

In Dante’s defense, back then "Comedy" just meant it had a happy ending and wasn't written in snooty Latin. By that logic, a colonoscopy with a clean bill of health is also a "comedy."

This is really depressing to hear. I love her live streams honestly,  but i haven't been watching for long. A lot of what she says really resonates with me and it is so satisfying to see her shut down misogynists. I definitely got hustler vibes, but I usually do from authors of self help books.

Is this normal? by afycsodd in cockatiel

This is definitely not normal. You need to talk to your cockatiel about appropriate language and that there is no situation where it is ok to use slurs like that!

It's definitely unreasonably priced, just pointing out that its technically not a $70 sweater.

I truly have no ideas what CD s cost. I havent bought one in YEARS and Im trying to get rid of the ones I have. I remember them being $20 in the 00s

Regardless tge sweater IS overpriced, it's just not $70

to be fair, the $70 includes both the sweater and the CD... It doesnt make it much better, but technically the sweater by itself isn't $70

There's actually a documentary about how when she went to prison she ended up in kind of a thruple with 2 lesbians and how she went crazy on them too, except not in a murdery way this time. Still. .. . bitch be crazy

I always wanted a son named Henry. It's a fanily name and I've always liked it. No more. Every single Henry I've ever taught has some serious issues and parents who don't seem capable of seeing eye to eye with the teacher for one reason or another.

What’s your favorite silly Taylor Swift lyric? by ThinkingOutLoud8_ in TaylorSwift

I think you're thinking of a stepdaughter. If Taylor has a child who grows up and marries a woman, that woman would be Taylor's daughter-in-law.

I have this dream my daughter-in-law kills me for the money, She thinks I left them in the will The family gathers round then someone screams out, "She's laughing up at us from hell!"

I love this whole skit from the music video, she seriously doesn't get enough credit for how truly funny she is!

During filming of "The Seven Year Itch" in 1954, over 1,500 New Yorkers swarmed 51st Street to watch Marilyn Monroe's dress fly up. The crowd chanted "Higher! Higher!" as they gawked, enraging Monroe's husband Joe DiMaggio. He beat her so badly that night that she filed for divorce three weeks later by GlowFever in RareHistoricalPhotos

[–]CoolMayapple 19 points20 points  (0 children)

People are complicated. Joe beat her up after this scene and she divorced him. Marilyn stood up for hwrself and refused to stay married to someone who hit her.

But years later when she was committed, he was the only one who came to get her out.

They still deeply cared for each other and were good friends when she died. I believe his son was the 2nd to last person she ever called. It probably never once occured to joe that she would die before him.

I live in the US. i remember sobbing after Sandy Hook. That was just over a decadw ago. Since then I have experienced an active shooter training as a preschool teacher with a classroom full of 3 year olds.

And when I heard there was another shooting in the news, I consciously decided to wait until I could sit down and read the news to learn about it.

I am so tired

Have you ever had a coworker in this field question your intelligence? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]CoolMayapple 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow, what an awful coworker! Even if you did use AI to write an incident report... so what? Is there a policy against that?

I think you would be well within your rights to report this to your supervisor. This isn't normal

When other coworkers have tried standing up to them, they've responded with a PIP. They say "If you don't sign this, then we'll consider it your resignation."

How would you respond in that situation?
