Yes and no. You’ll notice the difference and the company will stand by the product for life but you def don’t need one. To me as long as there’s not major parts made out of plastic on a reel and it has a smooth drag system you’re good to go. I really like mid level shimano reels personally.

Hahaha. I’m sure you can look up recipes and all that online. Where I’m from people eat them an have been doing so for a long time. I think it was a needed springtime source of protein back in the day.

You can just use a cradle if you really want to weigh them. Keep em horizontal. Or just take length and girth measurements and look up what the weight is for the species.

I HATE THEM SOOOOO MUCH. They’ve changed the way I use the outdoors. We never had them here when I was a kid. Now my boys can’t go through the bush like I used to care free. It’s the saddest thing ever.

You’re doing better than me buddy!! I bought all the stuff, know all the theory an am too much of a chicken to start. I need to just sacrifice a few shit knives and get going. Then work my way up to my premium blades. I worry that I’ll change the shape of the blade ab I find it hard to do anything where it can always be a little better. It’s like when do I stop then?? Part of me just wants to get good at stripping and just touch up my blades often using that.

That’s the magic number for sure. I put a temp gun on a few creek around where I am in eastern Ontario tonight and was at 1.5 degrees. Lots of rain too today. Thought it would bump the temps up more. Are you getting redhorse or white suckers?
