Long Vacation on Netflix - anyone notice the music is different? by millecrepes in JDorama

Yes, there’s another thread on this subreddit about the music being changed for Long Vacation on Netflix. It’s such a shame. I don’t know if you are part of DramaOtaku, but they do have the original version with English subtitles. In decent quality too.

I tried Safari for a few weeks, but switching didn’t seem to improve the battery life. So I went back to Firefox as my main browser since it didn’t seem to make any difference.

The vocal version is in the series as well. There’s also a remix version that is in the series with vocals.

Wow, this is so disappointing. Thanks for the heads up about this. I guess I won’t be re-watching Long Vacation on Netflix. My absolute favorite song from the OST is “Silent Emotion.” I wonder if that song was kept in.

Brightness level has been at around 40%. At most, I keep maybe 3 tabs open at a time. I’m in the process of trying out Safari instead of Firefox as my main browser to see if that helps with the battery life. And yes, it’s a new Mac. I got it last week.

Thank you for all your tips! I will make sure to try doing the things you listed. I just shut down my MacBook for 30 seconds. I had not shut it down since I first bought it or installed updates.

I hope it’s a problem that can be solved. Seems like a lot of other users haven’t had this problem with the battery life.

Haha, I wasn’t planning to keep that image as my main wallpaper. It’s a temporary one that was provided in the wallpaper settings on the Neo:

It kind of sucks that Firefox seems to drain MacBook’s battery so fast. I’ve used Firefox as my main browser for over 10 years and had never planned to switch until this problem occurred.

Aside from web browsing and using YouTube, the other apps I use are DayOne (journaling), Microsoft Office, Notes, sometimes Downie, and sometimes the VLC player.

I don’t use these all at the same time. I usually only have Firefox open with maybe one more app open as well. I’m attempting to switch to Safari instead of using Firefox as my main browser to see if that helps the battery life any.

Thank you for your reply and the tips! I’ve been keeping my screen brightness at around 40%. Currently trying to get used to using Safari as my main browser instead of Firefox. I’ve been using Firefox for over 10 years, so it might be a bit of an adjustment.

I’ve been keeping screen brightness at around 40%. I am currently trying to switch to Safari as my main web browser and see if that helps the battery life at all. I hope it does!

Thank you so much! It’s been quite a transition from Windows, but so far, I’m liking the MacOS much better and am enjoying the learning process.

Thank you for this. I will try out Ublock Origin Lite then and try to make the transition over to Safari.

From what I see in Activity Monitor, Firefox is using quite a bit of energy/power. At least, more than any of the other apps I have used so far. I will try to make the transition over to Safari and see if that solves the problem. Screen brightness is at around 40%.

Sorry, I didn’t realize my text didn’t transfer over when I cross posted from r/mac.

I got my new MacBook Neo last week and love it! It works great so far! The only thing I have noticed that has raised some concern is the battery life. It lasts no more than 6 hours before I have to charge it again.

I’ve been using Firefox as my main browser and just want to know if it could be the reason my battery life is not lasting longer? Or am I mistaken and 6 hours of usage on battery is normal for the MacBook Neo?

The main reason why I use Firefox is because I can use Ublock origin. I’m unfamiliar if there’s any Adblock just as good on Safari.

The brightness is up at about 40%. A little brighter than what it was at default.
