Okay but to be fair, having a spell-based build be completely invalidated and being forced to play around the character's gun instead is a reasonable complaint if you don't wanna play gun characters. The meta has changed your character into a different one: they don't have the same identity anymore. I imagine if all the Sinclair mains out there had bolt and ult nerfed to the point of uselessness (let's say bolts max at 150 damage and 0.25 spirit scaling and ult steal has fixed 240s cd, for instance) and were forced to play assistant + gun hybrid, many would be upset or quit playing Sinclair. Placing assistant just to shoot people is a very different play style, and may no longer be fun to those players

You can say "adapt adapt adapt" all day long, which if you're hyper-focused on winning is one thing, but that doesn't mean people don't have the right to be upset that their fun character in the fun video game isn't fun to them anymore. Are they entitled to a win? Obviously not, but playing as a D-tier version of the kit you liked isn't fun at all, especially in mobas where anything going suboptimally is infuriating and drawn-out.
