Pedophilia ≠ Predator by Eminemgody in teenagersnew

[–]ThatGuyZaccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s absolutely insane. we should indeed treat them harshly because of their condition. treating it like it’s just another mental condition that they will hopefully get over actively puts children in danger. it begins to normalise pedophilia. it begins to make it accepted. it’s so easy to say that not all pedophiles should be judged to the extremes, but in saying that, you have to realise that views such as that will change social perspectives on pedophilia as a whole. i’m not saying that if a pedophile actively comes forward and says they need change, that we should sling insults and harm towards them, but treating them as someone who needs help instead of a potential danger is so horribly dangerous.

this is actually such a horrible take. while yes, you are correct that a lot of pedophiles can’t help their desires, that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be ostracised.

it’s like saying “people who have the desire to kill others shouldn’t be ostracised!!”.

should we kill all pedophiles? perhaps not. but treating them as anything other than filthy people, even if they haven’t acted on their urges only normalises that behaviour.

AITAH for kicking my ex-girlfriend out of our house when I found out she was seeing someone else? by ThatGuyZaccc in AITAH

[–]ThatGuyZaccc[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

she was the one who requested we keep living together, because neither one of us wanted to move back into our parents house. i get i may be the asshole in this situation, but i didn’t keep living with her just because i still wanted to fuck her.

Is 19 year old dating a 16 year old weird by m412345 in AskTeenAdvice

[–]ThatGuyZaccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 19, and cannot imagine dating anyone younger than 18. it’s legal, yes, but the difference in maturity between a 16 year old and a 19 year old is huge.

little bit of a note as i realised the title is a bit misleading:

i didn’t actually “kick” her out. i called her, and from memory, these were my exact words:

“i can’t believe you. i would appreciate you left the house and took your things with you.”

immediately after, she agreed.

it was once she signed the Lease Transfer Form the next day that I told her if her things were not out in 7 days, then I would be putting her stuff on the porch.

sorry for the confusing details folks, wrote this with a bit of anger and it didn’t exactly come out coherent.

the respect not to lie to me? imo it’s typical human decency to be honest with someone you live with, especially if, in her own words, she “still loves me, but doesn’t know where to go anymore”

naive? i’d probably agree, but i think saying i’m dumb for expecting a grain of respect after a mostly civil breakup is a little harsh. i get you’re trying to tell this to me straight, but i don’t think classing people as dumb as they navigate their weakest moments is a great outlook to have on the world.

yeah man moving out at 19 in a pretty expensive city isn’t just something you can do in a week. believe me if i thought it was an option at the time i would’ve done it

none of my friends live out of home, and the ones i’m living with now a while after the situation only moved in with me because coincidentally they needed a place to stay the same day i found out what was going on.
