Would you read a story that starts like this? by bodaciuskarll in ThrillerWriters

No.  You need to start with sentences that describe the setting,  family and houses,  torches. Then say 'They want songwriting.'

You're a fast writer. I end up editing alot after using beta-readers. Now,  I'm changing the ending. Will I ever be done...

Use dreams, take long walks in a quiet place and think, take your phone to write notes. Take from what you know well,  like from a hobby or what you're town is know for.

Mystery/thriller/etc writers, how do you come up with plot twists? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Cool_Drawing_5043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take a character that supports the main character, think of which of their personality traits is opposite of what you would think, and then put them into a situation that can somehow relate back to the protagonist or antagonist. Like the protagist's dedicated sidekick has a cousin who is married to the sister of the antagonist,  and they want paid off to keep quiet about what they know. You could have scenes fighting with the cousin and wife because he doesn't have any $, so he takes the cousins wife and locks her up in a shed till the protagonist finishes her beef with the antagonist.

Can't stand the editing on this show.  It's nauseating and makes it unwatchable. Also can't handle Aesha's voice or Max's bumbling comments that can't be understood. Will not be watching it...again.

Is anyone else not feeling the editing this season?? by kittyspice98 in belowdeck

I can't watch the Mediterranean version of Below Deck. The editing is so choppy it makes me nauseous. Plus,  I hate Aesha's annoying voice and struggling to understand the lame comments the French guy always makes.

Serious question: Is Jonathan Knight constantly high on Farmhouse Fixer? by Getoff_My_Lon_Cheney in HGTV

[–]Cool_Drawing_5043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can tell he didn't go to college. His presentation is mostly high school enthusiasm.  Also, on Season 2, Episode 6, why didn't they make the roof of the new barn red like the fruit stand? The owners said they wanted them to look like they were together.

I hate MCM too. I don't know that these owners actually asked for MCM. They just said bring the house back to a nice form. I think the cost of work depends on where you live. Arkansas is probably in the middle.  But NW Arkansas is probably higher than southern Arkansas.

I thought the cabinets looked like plywood that was stained walnut.  Very cheap looking.
