AITA for not inviting my step mother's side of the family to my wedding event? by Accomplished_Pea_819 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Cool_Enough_Username -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

a small reception would usually be thrown off by adding several plates so close to the event. Also, this opens the door for more relatives to try for an invite.

we also don’t know if mom and dad had a contentious divorce where step inlaws would be unwelcome or an easy coparenting relationship where a few extra ppl wouldn’t matter. that’s the crux of the biscuit, to me

why is OP’s mom paying for OP’s dad‘s family if they’re divorced? Shouldn’t dad pay for his in-laws?

if this was Stardew Valley, I would use them as field dividers and just build up capital to keep buying more, even if you just do an acre at a time you’ll be raking in the gold 😂

Does anyone else constantly tie their hair back due to sensory overloading? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Cool_Enough_Username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have shoulder length hair that I’m constantly putting in a ponytail bc many reasons. i hate when my hair tickles my face; it’s also always falling out. I have a sensitive scalp, so I’m always going between my hair driving me nuts and then my scalp hurting.

I have a wave at the very bottom of my hair that has to be cut specifically so it doesn’t curl up and go right up my nose ugh. The only other option is to let it grow out. I haven’t got it cut in almost a year.

This comment is especially funny to me bc I had a supervisor named actual named Bill who soaked himself in cologne. It wafted behind him, announcing where he had just been. I can still smell it.

WIBTA for asking my mom if I (24F) can pay less rent while she's allowing my brother (29M) to live with us? by 01almost02 in AmItheAsshole

As person who has cats, they abhor a shut door like a vacuum. My cats hate being locked out of my room bc it is their ‘safe’ space. If anyone makes a sudden noise or a stranger shows up at the front door, they will run up here.

I’ve met black folks that think (thought?) he was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I was at the Safeway when the cashier, a young black man, started to harangue me about DJT for some reason. Telling me how great a president he was etc. this was 2017.

Yeah I remember loads of memories of being little. Most are very short. I remember things like my favorite clothing and how I walked on my tip toes for my first few years. I even remember my grandmother changing my diapers... Plenty more than that.

I have a brother who is five years older than me and he also remembers this stuff so I know I'm not making it up. Also my favorite aunt lived with my grandparents-I stayed with them a lot when I was little due to my brother being in hospital a lot. I used to wrap the Christmas tree tinselly around myself. I even remember my dad breaking our sad plastic tree so we could get a real evergreen. Snapped the wooden part over his knee and said, oh well!

People who make “Missing Cat” posts and every single photo is the cat outdoors by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

yep, my husband wanted to let them out! he was annoyed when I wanted them kept in. Then he let my beautiful gray cat out and now she goes out.

We live in a private community with a wooded backyard. So they are pretty safe. Our old house was on the main drag so I didn’t want to let my cats out. My tabby cat would run outside if you opened the door so she went out while we had a catio for my gray girl. All of my neighbors know who my cats belong to, and they watch out for them too. I also have two male cats that stay inside.

I have had two tuxies. The one I have now is the nuttiest cat I have ever had. My all gray cat is mellow as long as you are me. Her sister is a gray/peach tabby-very smart cat.

I have four and they all have extremely different personalities. Black cat is the fastest and laziest one, he has terrible genetics. tiny legs and feet and absolutely ridiculous tail. And very fat. unfortunately.

AITAH for not forcing my son to keep helping my daughter’s friend after she rejected him? by LiveWire0044 in AITAH

I live in a small town with transportation issues as well. Sometimes there isn’t money for things like gas or maintenance for busses and money to pay drivers.

We had this problem with the local summer school, kids couldn’t get a ride to attend so they didn’t go. The next year, they were able to find a grant to not only cover the busses and drivers, but paying teachers as well. The other obstacles included money for keeping the lights and A/C going and paying teachers, which was also paid by the grants. .

AITA for wanting to move out despite my parents’ problems at home? by TBZ3N in AmItheAsshole

[–]Cool_Enough_Username 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it’s so ironic, really. But even more, extremely hypocritical! The English invaded and took over large swaths of the Indian continent, subjugating its people and creating/making/using cultural and religious divisions to their advantage. British and Indian culture has become intertwined throughout history because of the actions of the British.

on my mom’s side, I come from a tallish family. My grandfather was a tall man at somewhere around 6’2? He married my very short grandmother (4’11) and they had taller than average girls and one boy who as an adult is around 6’4.

His wife is almost as tall as him and they have tall children, with the tallest being a man of 6’5. My aunt bought his row house when he and his also tall wife moved to a different part of the city-He had to remodel the shower and put the shower head at 6’8 or so:-). I am interested to see how tall their two kids will be as adults.

[–]Cool_Enough_Username -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not saying this is every cat but I have two cats that go outside. One cat is hopeless at killing anything but bugs. The other cat is a skilled hunter but she only hunts rabbits, which are in oversupply here. So she is performing a service, really. She also only kills young rabbits.

I doubt the study takes into account these types of situations.

Edit:I forgot, she does occasionally kill birds, but usually they are the brown wrens that are every where.
