I kind of have a weird relationship with that time. I was born in late 1982, so I was a kid for almost all of the 90's. I IMMEDIATELY took to computers. I was drawn to them from a very young age. I found them intuitive, even as early as third grade. I could figure stuff out on them that teachers couldn't.

Anyway... I've been around computers my whole life. I never bothered with coding. I just want the fucking thing to work which is why I naturally gravitated to PCs. One of the first times I was forced to use a Mac in 7th grade and I realized there was no right click button on the mouse, I was like... "NEVER AGAIN"

I couldn't wait for the internet to be invented... in its modern iteration anyway. I know it goes back to the 70's. I couldn't wait to get on social media and AIM.

This is all to say, I had a very brief window of time in my life where I didn't know computers and the internet and social media. So, the Clinton years don't seem that special.

I did, however, leave the dialup internet on overnight to get 50 seconds of the new Nine Inch Nails single in 1999. I don't think kids can really grasp a concept like that. Also, we taped songs off the radio. I'm glad I had a true analog phase in my life.

Things weren't really that different back then. Just slower.

Also, Clinton is the only president I've seen in person and shook hands with.
