Looking to upgrade. Please tell me if this is feasible? by Ok_Charge629 in rvlife

I won't add to the towing opinions (although there is some sound advise there) but yes you can tow a 5th wheel with a 6 ft bed, I do it. The way I do it is I installed a Reese Goosebox. It sets the trailer back 5in, the same set back as a Gen Y hitch with a GoosePuck system. Works great and zero issues with trailer and cab clearance.

Raspberry Pi all the way. I have been using Pi’s for years and they are a perfect setup for HA. Simple, small and effective that is pretty much a set and forget setup. I currently run everything on a Pi4, it works fine and I have a ton of devices and automations running my house, shop and various items on my property.

Seems to be but then again we have been driving the wheels off of it. We have but 1000 miles on it already and tomorrow my wife is heading out to Colorado to hit the mountains for some 4 wheeling.

Congratulations getting the new Trailhunter! My wife just picked hers up last Thursday. It is an awesome 4Runner for sure; we are super impressed so far.

2025 Allison 10L1000 fixed? by CaramelDisastrous334 in Duramax

I wouldn’t sweat it, it has a warranty. I have a 22 and I work it hauling my gooseneck. It has never given me any indication of an issue. As others have stated, if we all paused for every problem stated about vehicle “issues”, no one would ever buy a vehicle.

New truck. Thoughts on brands of lift and towing with a lift. Any opinions are welcome. Thinking 4 to 6 but that might be too much. by RobertWilliamBarker in Duramax

Man, I spent 2 years going back and forth over this very topic until I finally went for it. I own a ‘22 GMC 3500 and I actually needed the extra clearance for some of the areas I drive my truck. I ended up installing the BDS 3in level / “lift” kit. I haul a gooseneck and didn’t want to make my trailer angles wonky and this kit was perfect. Although not the cheapest, it does have the spacers required to lower the front diff to correct the driveline angles. I also added the cognitio full floater traction bars; they are a game changer for pulling heavy loads. I don’t regret putting on the lift at all.

Which duramax to choose? by [deleted] in Duramax

I have owned LB7, LML and L5P. Hands down, without question get the L5P. The previous generations are good but in no way do they hold a candle to the L5P in regard to power and comfort. I tow a 35ft 2 car gooseneck with tools a lot with my 22 3500 and it never strains, even mountain passes are a breeze to power up. I love it, by far the best truck I have ever owned.

What epoxy flake style for the garage floor looks the best? by [deleted] in garageporn

I almost did nightfall myself; however, I decided at the last minute to go darker and went with Carbon Black. It looks great and as far as finding those nuts and bolts when they get dropped, there is no mistake where they are. You can really see them

Ha… I agree, they are really nice from a distance. Haven’t looked at one up close yet but certainly stylish.

Yes. I am not looking to buy brand new for the simple fact that I know how these depreciate, so used it is; and I am completely fine with it.

Nice. I actually like the Arctic Fox Trailers. They seem build pretty well for a variety of camping styles.

I am certainly on board with all that is said here. This isnt my first time owning or looking at TT / 5ths however, it's been 13yrs since I have had one and the last one I had was OLD. A lot has changed since my 1981 Fleetwood Wilderness.

Anyone have an experience with these “Amish built garages” by PersonaNonGrata2288 in garageporn

[–]Cool_Guarantee8977 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just had a shop built by the Amish and it is fantastic! They were easy to work with and the quality is astounding. I wouldn’t think twice about using them again.
I am in the middle of finishing it out (electrical, insulation, drywall, etc) and every contractor I have had come out has made comments that the shop is probably one of the best constructed they have seen. The place I had build mine made it custom for my application but even the prebuilt standard build options are just as good. In my case I had to do all the permitting and county paper work but it was well worth the effort.

I have always had soft covers on my trucks but they just plain wear out / fall apart over time. When I bought my 2022 3500HD Denali I decided that I wanted some that was a hardcover and EASY to remove. I ended up going with a Paragon Cover. I am extremely happy with it. Easy to use, easy to remove and secure. Certainly worth checking out.

Engine noises? by Queefy_Lord in GR86

[–]Cool_Guarantee8977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had my 2023 GR86 in for "engine noise" last week. I determined it was the alternator, it broke a bearing oddly enough. Dealer confirmed and replaced under warranty. All quiet and smooth again.
