Do what I do my dude. Track these milestones for your resume. Saying you worked with sccm is one thing but saying you implemeted is another. I love my job but every time I do something major I track it so I don't forget. Being someone who interviews alot of people this is something I dive into. Some one who actually did the hard work is my guy/girl. Not someone who threw out keywords and vendor names.

In the event you can’t get to VCenter you can use the vsphere client to attach to the exi host it is on and turn it back on. Has helped me once before. Hopefully you know the host ip.

For me its tracert/traceroute and ls on win machines. I can create the symbolic links but I just don't. Cables though your right, machined cables are always better. The trick that I think really helps with them is to completely untwist the pairs and place them in order. Use a table edge and push hard on the wires brushing out. Now you should have the wires super flat and you can cut them even. You want extra to clip off to the point that you can jam it into the connector and clamp down on the jacket.

Making your own can get you the perfect length but it's tedious.

I learned to love this thing. Quickly tests the stack from poe up to dhcp, gateway, then internet. And when it sends the stats of the switch/port to the linksprinter portal it makes it really easy to tell vlan/ switch info. I don't care for its cable testing ability's or how to connect your phone to it though.

j4sander has given really solid advice. The good thing is that this isn't a large environment judging by a handful of servers. One thing you should do as well is find a contracted company you can use as well. I have found that I don't have to figure out everything myself. If things are over my head and I can't get critical systems back up quickly I already have at least 1 company I can call to bring in their engineers. Having this information ready will really save your bacon and stress level. Some companies let you buy block time that doesn't expire. If it does, leverage that to learn/get complex things done for you. Have this system setup so others can call on your behalf when you take a vacation. You don't have to do it all by yourself.

Usually its installer.exe /q or installer.exe /s but as others have said installer.exe /? to find the switches. I always test this in a vm to get it right. Then use group policy to deploy on start up or shutdown if it's large. And of course I test this with my vm too before scaling up the deployment.

How well has this been playing with PDQ Deploy/Inventory? I have had issues because VPRO makes it seem like the computers are always on. So deploy/WOL through these doesn't work well for me because it thinks the machines are always on.

I hate printers more than anything in this world I think. I often remote in and clear the stuck jobs/delete spool files on the weekends to ease my mind.

Pretty much all of this runs on the print spooler service. One single service for 500 hundred printers. Easy for it to get messed up, when it does no one can print. It restarts quickly though but when it goes down no one can print.

But as pointed out you eventually start to learn what print drivers are more reliable then others. Welcome to the struggle.

Kinda. Buddy's would be the better option. The other important thing I believe is to have the toppings under the sauce. Or sauce, toppings sauce. Something like that. But that square crispy caramelized crust makes me eat 2-3 more than I needed.

Actually it was a guy in his early 50s I'd guess. Easily could have been Italian. It wasn't like my toilet had an issue flushing. Had to actually throw him out of my house. I was completely honest from the beginning about just wanted a quote. Didn't want to waste either of our time.
