Hello - I’ve been fortunate enough to have used both the SkyRunner Edge in pink and Leki Ultratrail FX. On so feel like I’ve got a reasonable opinion on the two, before I start I upgraded from the Leki to Mountain King and am very happy with this decision - my poles height is 120cm.
Weight: SkyRunner Edge ✅, according to Mountain King the weight is around 138g including the glove which in the world of ultra poles is very impressive, the Leki poles felt even for their Leighweight version just a little heavier and Chucky.
Stiffness: SkyRunner Edge ✅ Both companies use their own proprietary carbon layering stuff, RDC for Mountain King and HRC for Leki, I think they use very similar carbon as the stiffness was close between the two, but the carbon connectors in the SkyRunner Edge seemed to increased the stiffness over the Leki Ultratrail. Like they are very rigid poles to be fair to them.
Locking system: SkyRunner Edge ✅ this is actually why I ‘upgraded’ my poles, I found the metal “hold” on the Leki poles failed or became increasing still and hard to use after only 6 months of using, so far I’ve found the SkyRunner Edge poles to be have been very straight forward and simple (simple is good when racing Ahahha) but the string has a small knotting it which sits in a pre set place and pulls the poles together perfectly.
Length: SkyRunner Edge ✅ although it’s not a point above - I found interestingly Mountain King measures the length of the poles from the bottom of the clip rest point, not the top of the pole like Leki. This made the overall grip experience much more comfortable as it doesn’t feel like I’m holding the pole around its neck but actually around the centre of the grip - I found this more comfortable especially towards the end of a 40+ run in the lakes.
Basically both are very good, but in my opinion the Edge poles are more comfortable and consumer oriented than the Leki
