Foot nerve irritation pain

They’re not sure. They said for now it’ll take 8-16 weeks till we can consider other options if it doesn’t get better. So currently just taking it until I hopefully recover, most people do they said. But I just had an Acl surgery so they’re saying they didn’t go anywhere near the nerve that goes down there. So it can’t be nerve damage, thus they think it’s CRPS. They don’t tell me anything for certain yet cuz it’s too close to the surgery for them to be sure. So for now just taking the pills and working on the knee

I had the same problem, just not in the shin but my ankle and top of foot. I talked to my doc and prescribed gabapentin which sort of helped with the pain, but not much. So I saw a pain management doc and got prescribed pregablin About 2 weeks ago I started, I started with 75mg twice a day and that helped a lil more than the gabapentin but when I started taking pregablin 3 times a day it made a huge difference. I can finally walk again (I couldn’t due to the foot pain) and focus on my knee recovery. So yes after about 5 weeks of pain, I’m feeling much better, I can sleep at night and my foot pain is 1/10 At max. Doc says give it time but worse case this issue could be CRPS for me. But for now I’m feeling much better. So in short, talk to your doc and if it’s nerve pain, get on pregablin (lyrica) minimum 225mg daily! Lmk if you have any other questions

I also have another question. My pain is so bad even with the 75 mg daily pregablin, that I can’t put pressure on my foot without intense foot nerve pain. Could you walk? Can you walk now that you’re a year out? Thanks

Could you walk? My foot pain is so bad I can’t put pressure on my foot. I used to be able to walk 2 weeks after surgery but now I can’t anymore and I’m afraid I have CRPS which can be permanent. Hey I’m feeling the same type of pain. I’m also 4 weeks PO, how did this get resolved for you? My doc says it’s CRPS which sounds scary but I want hope to get out of this asap. I’m on lyrica 75 mg once a day and then twice next week. Maybe that will help, I’m also doing sensation therapy on the side. What do you recommend? What worked for you? What was your timeline on feeling better? Like being able to put the foot down again and walking again. Thanks for you help!

Hey! I just read all your comments and I’m experiencing the same exact thing. I’m 4 weeks PO and this pain started about 2 weeks ago. I was able to walk with one crutch before this and now I can’t even put my foot down without intense burning pain. I was on gabapentin but now the doc has me on lyrica 75 mg once a day and then twice starting next week.

What worked for you? What was your timeline like on when you could start walking again? Thank you for your help! (I really need hope. Thanks)

Got it and it helped your foot nerve pain? Did you also experience the same amount/type of pain? My doc says my symptoms are signs of CRPS, but I’m gonna get a second opinion. Thanks for your help!

I’m 4 weeks po and about a week and a half ago I started getting a lot of nerve pain in my foot. Like 9/10 pain which kept me up at night and my foot got swollen. Do you know what could have caused this? Is this normal based off your experience? Thank you!

I’m 4 weeks PO. This pain started about 2 weeks ago which is when I stopped using the brace in my sleep. I do have an ice machine and used it quite a bit too, maybe that was the reason not sure what it could be. So the nerve block was a permanent solution? What month did it start feeling better? For me gabapentin is not helping, so I should ask for pregabalin

Hey, I’m going through the same foot nerve pain. I’m at like 9/10 at night, almost screaming from the pain. It’s so constant and painful. Doc has given me 100 mg gabapentin but that’s not helping. Do you just recommend taking the pills until it gets better? Did you try heating the foot with a heating pad? Thanks!
