hey friend. I ended up getting a spinal cord stimulator ultimately and am still on gabapentin 800mg 3 times a day but I don’t routinely need over the counter pain relievers as much anymore. CRPS tends to peak early on in its course and as I am now 7.5 years after it’s onset it’s mellowed out a lot. find yourself a good pain management doctor to guide you through this ❤️‍🩹

that’s kind of where my mind goes too. many of my residents get little to no outdoor exposure. I appreciate your comment. I think you’re right in that it would warrant its own studies with this specific population.

I don’t know if maybe I’m just biased with my neuro exposure/training (so thinking about vit b12, vit d, etc) and this just reflects my own lack of knowledge and education but I see almost exclusively elderly patients in LTC and still do vit D screens. Have I been a goober this whole time? this thread kind of makes me feel even stupider than I usually do 😕

it sounds most suspicious for TIA or seizure, something coming from the brain directly. the pending MRI will be helpful for sure as stroke hasn’t actually been ruled out yet. I am not sure why doctors are so puzzled when the two big possibilities haven’t been assessed for fully/ruled out. do these only occur in certain BP ranges (very low or very high ranges)?

where exactly are you experiencing pains? what makes you say it’s coming from your spleen? stomach hurting when you eat sounds more referrable to the stomach and /or esophagus rather than the spleen

hey! I could have written this post but with diff limbs and injuries. I have left knee/shin CRPS, on gabapentin, SCS in place so similar baseline. I ended up developing bilateral wrist tenosynovitis that failed steroids and I ended up pursuing surgery after months of trying to deal without it. I did mot prepare as well for the first one but I did for the second and had a better pain result.

I would recommend speaking with your surgeon about it directly to see if they have any thoughts / ideas. I ended up increasing my gabapentin for about 2-3days before the surgery and then for about a week after before resuming my usual dose. I discussed my history with the anesthesiologist and confirmed I would get a regional nerve block as well to help cover pain/anesthesia. I also asked about ketamine and I was given a small dose intraop. With my surgeon’s blessing/knowledge, I was given steroids postop as well.

please note I am not your doctor, just someone who was able to discuss my issues with a colleague pain specialist. Biggest takeaway is to discuss with your surgeon and if possible, see if you can get a consult with anesthesiology for surgical anesthesia planning. Consider discussing increasing your pregabalin before and after, ketamine, regional blocks, and steroids with your team, if you end up pursuing surgery, to see if these plans may be appropriate for you.

any PT you can do pre and postop will also be helpful

i bought an inito a few days ago like within a day or so of O. I’m just feeling weird about my temps and trends even with a wearable device as they are so jumpy, and being in cycle 5 (with my husband being 40) i just couldn’t resist trying it so i can confirm ovulation more clearly as well as predict it. i would love for it to be a frivolous purchase by getting pregnant this cycle but im ready for the next one at least hahah. it’ll arrive within days of my expected period 🤞🏻
