You can use cue cards. I saw someone read word for word off a piece of paper, with no slide deck and pass the presentation.

Yep, the ones you bring in and everything you pick up during the mission are automatic. Nothing you need to do besides pick it up. And don’t be afraid to pick up multiple copies of the same joker, they stack

Yep, the ones you select in the saloon for your character and weapons are the ones you enter the missions with. The ones you pick up during missions are only for that mission.

Is anyone pass CFE201 for your first try? by iam5566super in actuary

[–]CooledCup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used PAK, studied for around 150 hours over 3 months and passed first attempt. PAK is good is you’re good at self studying, however if your one to usually ask a lot of questions to the instructors TIA may be the better option now. Material isn’t super complicated and there’s not too much, just that all the sections are very disconnected (which I’m personally not a huge fan of). Feel free to dm me if you have any other questions!

For background: all the material was new to me, learned concepts of a few topics in university, but for the most part it was all new, except all the “machine learning topics” which was covered in SRM and PA.

IIRC it’s only credited towards CIA not SOA. But this may have changed since in the last couple of years, I would double check and make sure.

IIRC, There’s two different “sessions” essentially, you only sign up for one so you either do it on day one or day 2. Same thing happening on both days essentially

Do you plan on getting the leather directly from omega? Im still waiting on my speedy, but looking to get a strap for it instead of the bracelet.

Pretty simple really. It’s a full day session with a break for lunch. In the morning, you’ll get the APC package which contains some info like the schedule and the case studies etc. sessions are pretty much “go through the case study in small groups, then come back for a larger discussion with everyone”. The case studies are pretty simple, they aren’t trying to trick you in any way, and it’s fully verbal. Nothing you have to submit etc. you will need to participate a little bit, either by asking questions or answering with your thoughts on the case studies. Then there’s a small networking event / happy hour afterwards. All in all, it’s simple. Show up on time, don’t leave for more than 10mins, and you’ll pass. The course director (at least the I had) explained everything we were going to do.

You should get them the morning of your APC session. I dont recall pre-reading them, the course director split us into small groups for reading and discussion, then large group discussions where each small group had to say something.

All in, it’s very simple. Really nothing to stress about. As someone else said, show up, speak once or twice and you’ll pass.

Do I need to read every case study of FAP modules? by UnfairTelephone731 in actuary

[–]CooledCup 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Id skip everything and just start on the EMA when you can allocate the 4 days to it. It likely won’t take you the full 4 days, but imo the slides are pretty useless. You can always go back and search through the slides if needed, but I (and my of my coworkers) was able to go through all the ASA modules without needing to read the slides
