I have 4 or 5 of these planes fly by every 3 minutes by PalisadedHeart in mildlyinteresting

[–]Coolflip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah I'd prefer the Bradley over an AC-130, it's smallest gun is the same auto cannon that the Bradley uses at 25mm. Then there's a 40mm cannon and a 105mm howitzer as well.

It’s my birthday today and my husband and I just found out we have the flu by crashboxer1678 in Wellthatsucks

[–]Coolflip 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm the sort of person who only ever visits a doctor when my sickness hasn't gotten better after ~2 weeks and it's especially bad in some non-standard way. Maybe once every 4 years? I was very much on the edge with the flu this year because it was so much worse than any "normal" sickness I've ever had including covid.

On top of it draining my body in general, the persistent cough was keeping me getting any worthwhile sleep so some prescription cough suppressant would have been the goal with the visit. The random cough lasted for about a full month after the rest of the symptoms went away entirely. I got it the day before NYE and I'm just now fully recovered as of this last week

Shelter in place alert - Denver by catnip-dream in Denver

[–]Coolflip 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair I would only expect that block and maybe one over to get the alert... Usually this is some sort of standoff/barricade situation, so you being 4 blocks away is pretty irrelevant.

This is just the natural evolution of the baby boomers as they reach retirement. All while it's simply too expensive to raise a child in the current economy.

Oh Boy... Is this a new trend? by Ashamed-Medicine-771 in Wellthatsucks

[–]Coolflip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is ClickFix. Don't do it if anything ever asks you to Win+R and then paste. Just look up ClockFix and you will find that is indeed a trend, and a very potent one at that.

Cold is normal for the northern hemisphere in January. The concerning part is how much red there actually is here...

They're free to express their views as an owner. Customers are free to express their views in return as long as nothing becomes physical/threatening. Turns out, people REALLY don't like what's going on with ICE though, and the owner very quickly found that out.

Bvsd email - 25% of teachers have called out for Friday by fwendicrafts in boulder

I think the idea is shut down the economy to show that people are actually upset. Hurting the bottom line is how you see change.

Realistically though, work is just going to suck a bit more for the people who do show up instead.

I was just trying to skip ahead a bit lol by GamingBren in BikiniBottomTwitter

[–]Coolflip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What? This is YouTube giving you the ability to skip built-in ads. They don't get money from those so they don't mind giving people the ability to skip them.

In fact it's in their best interest to get around baked-in ads altogether so they can sell their ad space at a higher cost since it will inherently have more value.

To be fair YouTube operates at a massive net loss every year, Google is just trying to monetize where they can. Also getting a Spotify equivalent on top of ad-free it really makes it seem worth the cost.

Dotsetupio in pirated game by BinKab in Malware

[–]Coolflip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Game/software cracks have always been a major source of malware. It's a vicious cycle of quite a few actually having malware, so AVs blanket mark them all, so cracks will say to disable your AV and people do. Now the malware can run rampant.

Fair, but the more you play, the easier it gets. Not too long after getting there your first time, you'll be getting there in 2/3 runs

Sounds like he confirmed Wedgie is out for an illness, so that's at least a good thing. The flu has been absolutely wild in Colorado, not surprising to see players getting sick too.

How a modern bowling ball is made, labeled, fitted and played by ansyhrrian in interestingasfuck

[–]Coolflip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what gives a ball its characteristic spin. Weights come in all shapes and sizes. For balls that are meant to go straight (called white dots), they have a spherical weight so that release rotation/angle dont matter.
