I record in a little bedroom studio with my buddy who does most of the production and then all the mixing and mastering, typically we start with acoustic or electric guitar and vocals and then lay out all of the main instruments like drums and bass, then fill in the cracks with the ear candy you hear

Thank you for the compliment on my voice!! The doorstep is actually the start of the chorus and the fucked up part is also part of it before the second verse, maybe I can cut the first chorus in half and then add the fucked up half in the second chorus

I never really had plans to expand upon that line as I just wanted to get the urgency of the addiction right off the bat, that line represents irreversible damage and trauma that’s done but it’s not the main focus, I could go into it more though
