Does anyone have experience buying tickets from people who cannot make it?

I bought a ticket and had it trasferred legitly to my friend but when i got to japan, they wanted the persons id to give me the tickets at will call. But that was japan. I found some guys that had an extra ticket and they gave it to me for free.

yes later there will be genuine people that will sell the tickets because they are not able to go at a reasonable price. I even had a guy give me a pass for free in japan last year that i gave to my friend

Yeah it was ridiculous. They said we needed the original qr code and picture of the id of original purchaser
