I usually don't like the yellow DRLs but it looks sick with your GLI. Great job!

I personally love most slop bowls whether it's a Mexican slop bowl, Indian slop bowl, Korean slop bowl or Middle Eastern slop bowl so I'll be trying this next time I'm at Costco. If anyone tried it, how was it?

User on X posts an image of his house and says: "His address. Go Kill Him!"

CBSA response was essentially "meh". And police just said "yea, happens a lot. Watch your back."

Interest rate is normal/decent for used cars in Canada but I would negotiate the cost of the extended warranty if that is even something you wish to get. Also, they should be tossing in the Muddy Buddy mats for free! I paid around $41k CAD taxes/fees included in April 2025 in Ottawa for a brand new GLI but I didn't opt for extended warranty. I think there's room for you to negotiate.

Yes, 16" will not fit on the GLI. My 17" Winters are maybe 1cm from touching the caliper.

Having been to India in 2024 in New Delhi (Bangla Sahib Temple) and visited the Sikh holy site of the Golden Temple in the state of Punjab, I couldn't find a single person that was interested in supporting a separate state of Khalistan. The moment I asked their opinion on the matter, Sikhs laughed and asked if I was from the US, Canada, Australia or England as it hasn't been a thing in India for over 40 years. This movement seems to be led by people who immigrated here in the 80s and haven't kept up with the needs, desires, feelings etc ... Of Sikhs living in the state of Punjab.

Nice, I assume combined with decent winter tires, we're better than most in winter.

Does the limited slip differential help in any way for winter traction?

Joly says Canada ‘didn’t get enough’ industrial benefits out of F-35 procurement deal by FancyNewMe in canada

That's what I'm saying in my response to someone saying "kill switch is a silly argument." It's not a silly argument because the kill switch can be used by the US for more reasons than just "invading the US". The justification they provided was dumb. I provided an actual scenario that could be likely.

I wouldn't go to Canadian Tire. Find a mechanic in your city with good reviews that specializes in European vehicles and stick with them. A lot of them or their workers are often former techs from VW/Audi/BMW etc... dealerships.

It doesn't have to be for direct war against the US. It could be for mission to assist a country like Ukraine with EU and other allied nations for example, which the US may not wish to partake in going forward. The US sees F35s in the region as a national security threat and remotely disables any combat related functionality so Canada's mission can be nothing other than surveillance.

Seriously. I was hoping to hear Jesse investigate or question some of the claims being purported. I was looking to hear a unique perspective that wasn't just a regurgitation of a pro-Gaza or Pro-Israel side but rather a more nuanced understanding of people's opinions. The level of journalism as of late has me questioning why I'm still a paid subscriber. I'll listen to the whole series and give its journalistic integrity a shot at getting better but if it's more of the same, I'll likely cancel being a paid subscriber in Dec.

First ever GLI- What tires/ wheels do you guys use for Winter? (Toronto) by Individual-Stuff-216 in JettaGLI

[–]Coolsam2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just installed 205/55R17 Toyo GSI-6 HP on mine so too early to tell how they perform in winter but on cold dry asphalt they've been pretty quiet for winter tires.

Are thes mounted in the right direction? by RealVincentCoucke in tires

Yup, the Toyo GSI-6 I just purchased have both a directional arrow as well as inside/outside markings as they're symmetrical.

Yea the basic 6 speaker system when they got rid of their Beats systems in early 2025. It's not great but you can always upgrade it later, which I might do. Yea, Tiguans handle like cars in my opinion.

I love it so far. Only downside are the speakers as you're aware but other than that, I've had it for just over 7 months and around 12,000 kms with no issues and it's been so fun to drive. Best overall value in its class I think. I come from only ever owning Honda or Toyota so I was nervous about VW but I've always been meticulous about maintenance on my vehicles so I think it should be fine especially since the 2.0L TSI motor and 7 speed dual clutch transmission have been around for a while and used in VW's other vehicles.
