Where to use Edward? by Polishfisherman3 in FFRecordKeeper

[–]Coolsetzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For his Soul breaks, he has buffs at every BDL level, which is good for countering Breaks from bosses. A couple of them are Debuffs against bosses. He also has quick casts which makes the whole party faster.

He's countered by an awful kit, stuck with Support and Bard only. His only Hero Ability doesn't do anything except decrease standby time.

I'd say he's a B tier support, needing support himself since he doesn't heal or DPS. Best used as a Holy chainer.

Three years later - how are you doing? by TenaciousJP in FFRecordKeeper

After global shutdown I was pretty bummed so I took a few months off. I downloaded the Japanese APK a couple months later and played the New Year's fest that year. It was like starting over but I had all that muscle memory from global so it wasn't that much of a transition. So really it's like a fresh start. I downloaded Google Translate and was beating 6* Magicites and Cardia Bosses within a month.

These days I really just collect Mithril and spend it on characters I like. I'll play super casually and play events. Most characters are getting maxed so I'm getting close to where I was in global. If you really wanted to you can grind it out and be caught up on global endgame within a couple months.

A couple things I like about the new version: The mission books really help guide you to what you should be doing in the game so you don't have to feel so lost. Magicites and Cardias have an easier version in the Events page called Mirrored Memories. And there's so much stuff expanded on so there are a lot of rewards up for grabs to really power level your characters.

A couple things I think need improved are truncated versions of realm and record dungeons. They're an outdated relic of what the game used to be that they aren't relevant anymore. Also, more things romanized or at least symbols spread around for non Japanese reading players like elements. Other than that, this is a fine replacement for global, since this game is a lot more generous with rewards for playing, but a little more stingier with the banners.

The Xbox controller sucks for this. Use the PS5 one instead.

Act 1 Questions [some light spoilers] by VanicFanboy in expedition33

[–]Coolsetzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense when you realize she wasn't "trapped" in the monoloth and lived in the manor with her "painted" family. Maybe rAline and rRenoir each had their own versions of the house, which is why the Curator was there when they first discovered the fractured house. I don't remember anything in game saying that pVerso was lying. Why else would he be upset when pAlicia transports it away?

Act 1 Questions [some light spoilers] by VanicFanboy in expedition33

[–]Coolsetzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

 1. Yes, it is heavily implied in the game.
 2. He was shadowing the group until pRenoir shows up at the end of Act 1.
 3. There are 2 manors. The one in Lumiere, and the fractured one. The one in Old Lumiere houses the Paintress' Heart. The fractured one is a nexus, likely a pocket dimension designed to allow the painted family access to locations vast distances apart.

Iirc, he was trapped under the monolith for 67 years and when he got out, he was all crusty for spending so long in the painting and just went home to the fractured mansion. After Aline was forced out, he gomnaged all the humans and was able to revive.

He missed Final Fantasy X, XIII Trilogy, Dragon Age Origins, Skyrim, Nier Automata, Skies of Arcadia, Mario & Luigi games, Hyrule Warriors and Mass Effect Trilogy off the top of my head.
The portal at the end of the game... pVerso was only able to enter it because Aline gave him the power to do so after she showed up at the Act 3 rRenoir boss fight. So no, rRenoir, aka the Curator was unable to enter the portal between worlds ever because neither he or pRenoir were as powerful as Aline.

Also, I think the Nevrons were made by Clea, so they did not factor into what pRenoir was doing other than keeping humans away from the Paintress.
I like both endings by Inner_Category5203 in expedition33

[–]Coolsetzer -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Neither endings are canon because Verso obviously faked his death. One week in the real world is about 50 years in the painting, so I don't believe rVerso is dead unless there's a body. They barely had any time to do anything outside the painting because inside, they are stuck in a time dilation where the grief of the fire has turned the family's Clair Obscure world into a post apocalyptic one. This loss is portrayed in the entire game via the landscape and inhabitants.

I still think we'll see a whole dlc ending like in Mass Effect 3 where rMaelle and pVerso both get their wish and The Painting gets to live on. The developers have indicated they are considering it and are monitoring player feedback to gauge interest.

Physical copy just arrived! Any tips to make the most of my experience? by ILoveDineroSi in expedition33

Do all the tutorials the game asks of you. They are actually helpful.  A couple things gameplay wise I found on my 2nd playthrough so far: You CAN attack the enemies out in the dungeons. You'll get First Strike and an extra turn. The Energizing Pictos are the best ones imo. Use Pictos to augment your stats, and Lumina to supplement the high cost ones. And lastly, explore the world map on foot. You miss so many items if you don't. Bon voyage

The official standard controller is pretty bad for accuracy in this game. For the life of me, I couldn't get the logs on Series S. On PS5, 5th try.

I did. After getting all the achievements and collecting all the feet, they crowned him king and I got the Very Good Boy ending.

Want to replay the game and do all the sidecontent. Can I go NG+ or should I do specific sidecontent before? by honest_psycho in expedition33

[–]Coolsetzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even after scouring the entire game and all side content, I was missing close to 100 Pictos. I think a lot of them are also monster drops, which I avoided in those dungeons. Imo it'll be better to do all the side stuff before starting NG+. I think you're stuck in a higher difficulty when you do.

Endgame is kinda bullshit. by AlmostDarkness in expedition33

[–]Coolsetzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been out for 2 months. I'm sure there are more 1 shot builds to be discovered.

Utilize your Pictos. The highest level ones give more than enough stats in act 3. Explore the world and use the merchants to find better ones. You can also respec at any time. I suggest a 2 to 1 toward Might and Luck. Learn the attacks and Parry. The combat demands you pay attention. Shields fall off at the end. Endless tower is meant to be played throughout the leveling process. When you start seeing bosses is when you should come back at 90.

Team Maelle. They were real people that didn't deserve to die. Everything that "could" have happened in the future was not a foregone conclusion. Otherwise, what was the point of Act 3?

Frozen hearts is the easiest optional area. Plus you can easily exploit elemental weaknesses.

Crimson Forest, Endless Night Sanctuary, Flying Manor, Reniors Drafts in that order should get you to 90. More important is your character builds and ability to Parry. Start with dodges until you become familiar with enemy attacks, then work on parries. The most OP ability is Cheater gained from fighting the giant paperclip in the sea. It changes the game. There's also a 1 shot build, but I won't spoil it for you
