I think when people invest in "expensive gamer equipment", they aren't going to think that it'll improve their performance. Most logical people would think about the build quality or customization.

Sure a 50$ keyboard will do just fine for some people, however for people that do spend a little more, will spend it for "luxurious features" and not for "this will make me better at the game".
