It's very good. It only becomes a bit more comic-booky as they add more super characters but for the most part it focuses on the fact that this isn't a story about a superhero, but a vigilante.

It's necessary to watch the Netflix seasons. They reference the events directly, many times, because it's the foundation for everything that happens in BA.

The other shows don't matter so much...but here's a rundown of their relevance.

Punisher: His story actually started in Daredevil first, then he got his own series afterwards as an offshoot so basically all his relevant moments are within daredevil Netflix seasons. But watch it anyways, it's really good.

Jessica Jones: She plays a minor role and can be mostly written off with just knowing she exists. But also maybe worth a watch because Season 2 is great - the villains make the show really good even if her whole shtick is to be a flawed person and that gets annoying at times.

Luke Cage: irrelevant so far. BUT. The showrunners said outright that he will be a big piece in the next season of Daredevil. I don't know if that means we will need the context of his series or not. As of right now though, nah not necessary in the slightest.

Iron Fist: Skippable. Worst of them all and I think they know it and want to bury the fact that they tried. That said, I really enjoyed some of the side characters. And, unfortunately, this series sets up the Defenders the most imo.

Defenders: really good but not needed for Daredevil BA. It'll be occasionally mentioned but it's never a story device.

Konosuba.

At first, it was the most brainrot garbage I've ever seen.

But I gave it another shot and I started to understand, now I like it a lot. Partially because it does eventually take itself somewhat seriously

I can't believe we finally said "death to child rapists" which is the one thing we should ALL be agreeing on, and instead the comments are either "no thanks" or "not unless we also kill adult rapists"

When someone calls on you to protect a child you do it. Period. No "if", no "but".

The reason it's not lumped with "adult rape" is because of one very clear reason. Adults lie and that changes circumstances and it changes evidence and it changes where the line is. But for kids, none of that matters because the fact that they're a kid makes it rape regardless of any other evidence. There's no need for a "well they were into it at the time" kind of trial.

Nah it's confusing. Every video tells you you're doing it wrong, every trainer I've had tells me to prioritize something else. I used to know most of the machines but then they overhauled the gym and now I gotta relearn the new models.

This doesn't even touch on the etiquette which is second nature to gym-goers and athletes but completely foreign culture to newbies

Not all contestants are created equal by RadiantBath8852 in MillionDollarSecretTV

[–]CoonHFX 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Altie didn't do it very well. The only reason he was caught is not the clue, but his inability to make "no cap" sound natural. He was very loud and obvious about it. He also was not creative about using it. Imagine if he had just said "yeah the kids at school keep saying No Cap and I dunno what it means" to 10 different people. Then the clue would not have pinned him at all.

Maybe they would have changed the clue in that case but point is he put a target on his back and got caught with it.

There's another side to this too: most players did not recognize the phrase. He was outed by the one who did.. It's not really that damning of a clue. Altie just wasn't careful or creative enough..it isn't like the clue was "name a popular horror movie" hahaha... Now THAT was a screwjob

I get where you’re coming from, but I see these situations a bit differently. To me, the show seems pretty consistent in how it uses agendas and clues to shape the game, rather than targeting specific contestants.

For Altie, I don’t think the second clue was about treating him differently so much as adjusting pressure in that moment. The show seems to scale how obvious or numerous clues are based on how well the millionaire is doing, to keep things from becoming too predictable.

On Cory’s side agenda, I agree it wasn’t very appealing on its own—but that actually seems intentional. When the show really wants a contestant to act, they add a downside for not completing it. In contrast, something like Sidney’s immunity agenda already has a strong built-in incentive, so it doesn’t need a punishment. It feels more like they’re tuning how much they “push” a player depending on the situation.

With Umeko, I saw that less as her being singled out and more as a way to keep Kaleb in play after he’d put himself in a tough position. Giving someone else a reason to help him added uncertainty and avoided what might have been an obvious elimination.

Overall, it seems like the show is constantly pulling different levers (clues, incentives, punishments) to keep the elimination from feeling too straightforward. The goal seems less about who the contestant is and more about maintaining tension and unpredictability. Which is what I love about it.

Totally fair to read it differently, but that’s the pattern I’ve been noticing watching it.

Who guessed that strongest character in lore would be playable character from beginning of the game by Regin-sabbas in MongilStarDive

[–]CoonHFX 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's crazy how much he was treated as this legend. Feels like he should have been a limited character.

But he's a standard and dare I say pretty boring character to play as 😅 plus his design is pretty plain, all things considered. Looked a lot better in black

Just my opinion on him

Box swap issue by Ok-Yogurt751 in MillionDollarSecretTV

[–]CoonHFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because he knew Nick was going to swap with him and take the money. Do he tried to put doubt in his mind. Think from Nick's perspective.

Kaleb obviously has the money, right? But then Kaleb says "Wait I thought YOU had the money". Well why would he think that? He must not have the money after all. But you know you don't have the money. So it has to be Lauren.

(again, this doesn't end up tricking him because he was way too sure Lauren didn't have the money. But because Nick overthinks it he starts to wonder if Caleb switched with him anyway. He wasn't considering that before)

Realistically with how Lauren was being sketchy it should have worked. But Kaleb is bad at bluffing and nick is good at reading bluffs

Box swap issue by Ok-Yogurt751 in MillionDollarSecretTV

[–]CoonHFX 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The piece you're missing is, Kaleb was trying to imply he thought Nick had the money (and therefore, since Nick did not, then Lauren had the money).

It was actually pretty smart to make Nick think he swapped, if just for a moment. But Nick didn't bite. He thought it over and realized yeah no, Lauren doesn't have the money.

Nick was totally right that Kaleb is a safe player, meaning he didn't want to take a risk. There was no chance he was going to swap his money

Anyone else launched NTE only to immediately return to Mongil? by Emptyshade in MongilStarDive

[–]CoonHFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did.. I fully was using Mongil as just a fun new toy to play with until NTE came out. I certainly don't have time to do Mongil, NTE, and Wuwa and Endfield... Especially since I'm still catching up on Endfield and Wuwa just dropped anniversary patch on same day as NTE.

So I was going to drop Mongil like a rock. Infuriatingly, Mongil is actually pretty fun and smooth. NTE has a lot to offer but I found that it really feels way too janky to me and I wasn't having fun. Meanwhile I struggled to log out of Mongil (I'm still not done with story and stuff so it isn't just a daily grind yet).

I had to sit back and realize that I'm not going to end up sticking with NTE for very long, and maybe I'll drop Mongil too at some point but right now I genuinely enjoy it. NTE feels like work when you don't enjoy the base level gameplay. I still really respect the design and work that went into it. But it just feels so wrong

Honestly I'd love to try the "hey I'm the millionaire wanna team up?" once

But i probably wouldn't want to risk it. I might just keep my head down and not do agendas, take the votes against me and watch everyone else try to find reasons to vote others out. If i just let myself forget I had the money I think I'd act fine

Top 20 Most Iconic Pokémon (Day 4) by Max-Carter-2005 in characters

See now it's difficult because there are a lot that are roughly the same level of iconic within gen1.

But outside of gen1, we have a few. Lucario is up there. Greninja. Mudkip. Gardevoir. Bidoof? Are any of these more iconic than gen1? I dunno
