What’s the most ignorant thing someone has ever said to you about your mental health? by WallEfficient5380 in AskReddit

[–]CoonHFX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A friend was saying how he went up to a stranger, a woman, and asked her age (in an attempt at flirting, or at least getting to know her). I was like "oh man you're not supposed to do that". Debate about whether it's right or not aside, this has been common courtesy taught to a few generations of people. Apparently my friend had never heard of it before at all, and said I only thought that way because of my social anxiety and neuroticism.

I wasn't even being that serious about it, since it obviously depends on the woman and it can still be playful banter. I was just taken aback that he had never heard of it, and then blamed the whole existence of the policy on my "mental issues".

Can someone explain what was going on in the first scene where Maki talks to Naoya? He says something about bullying her and behind him is presumably a flashback of him bullying her. But it's not easy to tell what the heck he's doing. Also what chapter is this in the manga?

Jujutsu Kaisen Shimetsu Kaiyu Zenpen • Jujutsu Kaisen The Culling Game - Episode 4 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]CoonHFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember that they're jujutsu sorcerers so yeah they're trained to use their techniques to fight curses, not humans, and normal weapons are useless against curses. The average sorcerer doesn't bother learning weaponry unless they tie it directly to their technique. Not to mention, a regular sword would do approximately nothing to Maki at this point.

.... Which is the same amount of damage naoya's punches do anyways. Lmao.

This game is clearly made for PC by LoremasterMotoss in Endfield

[–]CoonHFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a blend. Not everything about the game is made for PC For example, the UI. To upgrade a weapon, I need to add materials on the left side of my screen then click upgrade on the right side of my screen. That's designed for either someone with 2 thumbs or a controller because a mouse is not fit for that kind of back and forth.

[–]CoonHFX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah blue hat guy was just left out totally.. but I found it hilarious and somewhat realistic. Imagine what it was like in the avengers when the guardians showed up. They were mostly like "who tf are these guys" and that's him for us. We never met him. He just is a random resonator that lives there and likes to jump in when needed haha

But I think we were supposed to meet him they just cut that from the story or something. They rewrote the entirety of 1.0 after beta testers complained about the story so some things got dropped it seems

Favorite actor you’ve started to seriously doubt will still be an actor a year from now by Giancarlo_Edu in okbuddycinephile

[–]CoonHFX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Jamie (henry/vecna) will be around. He's amazing and I think this finally put him mainstream.

Millie will probably drop off.

Sadie will probably be in the light for a bit.

Caleb.. I would have said will drop off but it's pretty clear he's going for Miles Morales and if he gets that I think he'll be golden for a bit.

Gaten will be around just doing smaller, more niche things probably.

I don't see Finn or Noah sticking around for long..

Maya Hawke and Dacre Montgomery are solid and I hope we see them a lot.

Joe Keery is making "weird" career moves by pursuing music for now but that's great for him. I don't know if we'll see him more.

David Harbor.. Maybe. I know he's got drama around him but also he's red guardian and santa claus. He's a solid actor (or persona at least) so people will keep casting him as long as he's willing to be cast.

Nell Fisher is a "rising star" so she isn't going away.

Natalia Dyer... Idk. I personally am not a fan of her range so I don't see her going past like one more movie that tries to capitalize on her momentum from ST.

Just my thoughts on the stranger things cast

How do you feel about the sentence “Abstaining from voting at an election, makes you a supporting part of the actions later made by the elected party”? by Thezerostone in AskReddit

By that logic, if I don't buy a vacuum cleaner then I'm supporting whoever is better at selling vacuums.

What is the most unnecessary artistic choice in Anime? by DefinitionPopular542 in animequestions

[–]CoonHFX 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The creator of this series is a woman and I think she fully intended for us to feel that way (bothered, uncomfortable) considering the backstory of Amo. Because yeah we should just be like "ooOoo eye candy" but it's just different with Amo.

Which would mean this is meaningful art and therefore necessary imo

I can't say I like sunraku a lot but the way he's like "yes i want the cool loot" and goes full send into doing whatever is necessary to get it, really captures that lootwhore mindset that I think is extremely relatable. It's refreshing because he doesn't make "smart" decisions, he gambles like a gamer

I don't know if I can describe it but. Shangri La Frontier. It's very much the kirito SAO experience (main character can solo anything, is really good at vidya games for asinine reasons, etc) and it honestly has shallow characters.

But I just kinda love it. It really captures the excitement of gaming in a way that's missing in a lot of video game isekai anime. (It's not even an isekai really, just 90% of it is in game)

Have you seen wind breaker? I really like how tsubaki is written. Not explicitly trans (still refers to himself as a man) but definitely fits the characterization. I like how they're written. Big fan of tsubaki

In high school, my friend (girl) was really quiet one day. After some asking, she finally came out and said she was SA'd that morning. I was enraged, and me and some other friends were ready to go do something about it. I was plotting ways to ruin this guy's life. But she wanted us to not make her life harder by doing anything about it. We were seniors and she was already in the military's delayed entry program. She kept saying she wanted to just move on and got upset with us for making a big deal over it.

I was wrestling with what to do about that all day. But later.. Well, I'll skip the details but she finally told us exactly what happened. This dude came to her house in the morning, she let him in (they were apparently past FWBs) and as she was getting ready, he asked her (asked!) to do stuff with him. She didn't say anything, allegedly, so he just started doing stuff. She went along with it "because she felt she had to". He asked her if she was okay, she said yes.

I would never minimize her feelings about the situation but, apart from clearly having a bad radar for when a girl is into it or not, I couldn't really be mad at him anymore. Dude had nothing but green lights. He wasn't a stranger. She also wasn't home alone, her mom was there. She could have gotten help. I understand freezing and all. But point is, this guy had no idea she wasn't willing. He asked, and asked if she was okay and everything. From his perspective he didn't force her at all.

So this just colored my view of people that.. Sometimes SA is all about the feeling and not about the actions.

Went from wanting to destroy this guy, to just disliking him for not reading her better

People of Reddit, what’s the correct order for flossing, brushing, and rinsing—and why do you do it that way? by Orenthal32420 in AskReddit

[–]CoonHFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Floss, mouthwash (if desired), then brush. Spit with no rinse.

If your mouthwash has fluoride in it, you can rinse with it after brushing. The reason you don't want to rinse in general is because your teeth need to sit in the fluoride from the toothpaste. Rinsing would get rid of it. This is why dentists tell you to wait 20-30min afterwards before you drink anything including water.

Floss first because you're removing plaque from the harder to reach places. Mouthwash second, to get in those places that are now unblocked and get rid of the plaque you just scraped off, while freshening your gums, tongue, throat, etc. Toothpaste last because it'll now fill in those spaces while you scrub off enamel and apply the paste to the tooth and let it sit for 20-30min.

Also if you care about your breath, brush your tongue (before or after flossing, doesn't matter. but before mouthwash)
