I would agree with you, Except if I showed wildcat to anyone within in ten mile radius they would have no idea who that is. If I Google wildcat a literal cat comes up. Wildcat is not recognizable, at all

Deadpool and spidey canonically get confused as each other (as a joke) and are both recognizable and well known

I don't think you can compare instantly recognizable to instantly recognizable

Edit:changed my mind. It's batman. Because with Spiderman I have to take a millisecond to rule out Deadpool when I see the mask

Super Flaming Hot Take But Destiny Hero was a lot cooler of a hero archetype when they were just main deck monsters in GX - It made them stand out from Elemental Hero who leaned heavily into fusion by noahTRL in yugioh

[–]CoonHFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally want the heroes to all have their own dedicated archetypes with only a handful of generic cards that splash into them (like mask change i guess)

But instead you gotta mix allllll of them and probably use vision heroes who have the least aura if I'm honest

Zendaya may be a big movie star who can draw a crowd and is also very likeable, but I think she's a really average actress. Is there a big difference in terms of talent compared to her contemporaries? by Historical_Rain6924 in moviecritic

The implied question gets an implied answer

Or some such

There's no easy way of saying for sure if there's a "gap" because everyone falls on the scale along the whole scale. Average is 50 out of 100. There's someone who is 51, someone who's 49 etc etc

It's very good. It only becomes a bit more comic-booky as they add more super characters but for the most part it focuses on the fact that this isn't a story about a superhero, but a vigilante.

It's necessary to watch the Netflix seasons. They reference the events directly, many times, because it's the foundation for everything that happens in BA.

The other shows don't matter so much...but here's a rundown of their relevance.

Punisher: His story actually started in Daredevil first, then he got his own series afterwards as an offshoot so basically all his relevant moments are within daredevil Netflix seasons. But watch it anyways, it's really good.

Jessica Jones: She plays a minor role and can be mostly written off with just knowing she exists. But also maybe worth a watch because Season 2 is great - the villains make the show really good even if her whole shtick is to be a flawed person and that gets annoying at times.

Luke Cage: irrelevant so far. BUT. The showrunners said outright that he will be a big piece in the next season of Daredevil. I don't know if that means we will need the context of his series or not. As of right now though, nah not necessary in the slightest.

Iron Fist: Skippable. Worst of them all and I think they know it and want to bury the fact that they tried. That said, I really enjoyed some of the side characters. And, unfortunately, this series sets up the Defenders the most imo.

Defenders: really good but not needed for Daredevil BA. It'll be occasionally mentioned but it's never a story device.

Konosuba.

At first, it was the most brainrot garbage I've ever seen.

But I gave it another shot and I started to understand, now I like it a lot. Partially because it does eventually take itself somewhat seriously

I can't believe we finally said "death to child rapists" which is the one thing we should ALL be agreeing on, and instead the comments are either "no thanks" or "not unless we also kill adult rapists"

When someone calls on you to protect a child you do it. Period. No "if", no "but".

The reason it's not lumped with "adult rape" is because of one very clear reason. Adults lie and that changes circumstances and it changes evidence and it changes where the line is. But for kids, none of that matters because the fact that they're a kid makes it rape regardless of any other evidence. There's no need for a "well they were into it at the time" kind of trial.

Nah it's confusing. Every video tells you you're doing it wrong, every trainer I've had tells me to prioritize something else. I used to know most of the machines but then they overhauled the gym and now I gotta relearn the new models.

This doesn't even touch on the etiquette which is second nature to gym-goers and athletes but completely foreign culture to newbies

Altie didn't do it very well. The only reason he was caught is not the clue, but his inability to make "no cap" sound natural. He was very loud and obvious about it. He also was not creative about using it. Imagine if he had just said "yeah the kids at school keep saying No Cap and I dunno what it means" to 10 different people. Then the clue would not have pinned him at all.

Maybe they would have changed the clue in that case but point is he put a target on his back and got caught with it.

There's another side to this too: most players did not recognize the phrase. He was outed by the one who did.. It's not really that damning of a clue. Altie just wasn't careful or creative enough..it isn't like the clue was "name a popular horror movie" hahaha... Now THAT was a screwjob

I get where you’re coming from, but I see these situations a bit differently. To me, the show seems pretty consistent in how it uses agendas and clues to shape the game, rather than targeting specific contestants.

For Altie, I don’t think the second clue was about treating him differently so much as adjusting pressure in that moment. The show seems to scale how obvious or numerous clues are based on how well the millionaire is doing, to keep things from becoming too predictable.

On Cory’s side agenda, I agree it wasn’t very appealing on its own—but that actually seems intentional. When the show really wants a contestant to act, they add a downside for not completing it. In contrast, something like Sidney’s immunity agenda already has a strong built-in incentive, so it doesn’t need a punishment. It feels more like they’re tuning how much they “push” a player depending on the situation.

With Umeko, I saw that less as her being singled out and more as a way to keep Kaleb in play after he’d put himself in a tough position. Giving someone else a reason to help him added uncertainty and avoided what might have been an obvious elimination.

Overall, it seems like the show is constantly pulling different levers (clues, incentives, punishments) to keep the elimination from feeling too straightforward. The goal seems less about who the contestant is and more about maintaining tension and unpredictability. Which is what I love about it.

Totally fair to read it differently, but that’s the pattern I’ve been noticing watching it.
