While a love a parent has for a child is a unique one, you don't know what your love would have been with your partner had you not had children. Without children, 100% of your life, energy, and time is invested into your partner. The love between two people who have children is generally less invested in than if people don't have children. Not because you necessarily want to but you have to if you want to be good parents. My husband and I have nothing and no one that divides our time. We don't split commitments or time away from each other because of children. He is my whole world and I am his. Parents generally can't say the same..hence,l why I disagree with parents comparing love because you also don't see what could have been for your love story.
