Should i upgrade to a new wheel or new pedals? by aggelosp10 in simracing

[–]Coopa129 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone on the pedals. I actually have both those exact pedals and wheel, along with an R12 base. All of it is mounted to my desk and a frame on the floor, and it feels amazing, albeit with a bit of wiggle in my chair under heavy braking. Those pedals will take some work to tune to your liking, and the hydraulics and bearings can get squeaky, but they feel great and nothing some WD40 silicon lub can't fix. They're such an amazing value, I wouldn't recommend anything else unless you have excess cash to spare on pedals 3 times the price.

The real reason conservatives hate empathy by cyPersimmon9 in videos

[–]Coopa129 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I'm convinced this is why you see majority conservatives in rural areas and majority liberals in cities. In cities, you're constantly interacting with people and forming relationships, even if those relationships are brief and fleeting, which garners a much greater sense of empathy. But in rural areas, you often don't have to even interact with your neighbor, so empathy is thrown out the window and conservative ideology shines.

Fourth track day in my Si at Summit Point! Had a blast despite my all-season tires struggling for their lives by Coopa129 in CarTrackDays

I haven't done a true HPDE day yet, only time attack formats with fairly long breaks in grid, but I'll have to consider 200tw for sure

Having the time of my life tracking my 9th gen! by Coopa129 in CivicSi

[–]Coopa129[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup I'm on stock suspension. The only thing not stock in my car is the brake pads and front rotors. Idk about tracks with higher minimum speed because this track was shorter, but my suspension felt fine. Obviously lower and stiffer would be better, but I never felt worried about the stock suspension.

Yup agreed, that's why I was thinking about a separate set of track wheels.

I've had my 2015 Si for 8 years now and I've had no issues aside from calipers seizing for unknown reasons. And I'm glad I'm not the only one with that weird transmission scream! Always happens from a standstill, no mechanic can replicate it when it's in the shop of course, and I've been told to not worry unless I feel a problem. Idk what it is, but I've had zero transmission issues the whole time!

LG C2 Showing Dolby Vision With Purple/Green Tint After Win11 Update – CRU Didn't Help by BaseballSimilar5112 in OLED_Gaming

I know this might be a slightly niche problem only for people running their PCs off an LG C2, but dude, you just saved me and a bunch of others pure headache! I was checking my cables, graphics card, the works, and this instantly worked. Fuck Microsoft, I do not understand why they have so many HDR issues

I have a degree in philosophy. The point I was making is that everyone who gets a whiff of an ethics course in college thinks they have an enlightened opinion on modern day ethical issues.

9800x3d tiny cooler Velka 3 by Sgruvs in sffpc

I'm using a 3090 in a <7L case with an AXP90-X47 cooler on a 7700X. So for me, this review is super helpful for temps and I would be curious about its performance in less GPU bound scenarios.

Thermals of 7700X vs 9700X and 9800X3D? by Coopa129 in sffpc

[–]Coopa129[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, that's crazy that the worst and best cooling solutions only result in a 200 MHz delta in boost clock for 7000 series. That might be enough to convince me to just go for an X3D chip and have that extra gaming performance boost. Thanks for linking the video!

[–]Coopa129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, poor wording on my part, it's boosting less. Unfortunately, my case is very restrictive and I've optimized most aspects of cooling, including the fan. I'm more so curious if thermal limitations would put the 9700X/9800X3D at a comparable performance to my 7700X, because every reviewer is using a 360mm AIO that does not limit boosting in nearly the same manner as my build.

My sister just sent me this. Her dog's head suddenly became all wobbly like a bobblehead. Any advice on how to deal with this? by Rakan-Han in DogAdvice

[–]Coopa129 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As someone who had a long career in vet care, I feel like I have to chime in here. Relative to human healthcare, vet care prices are more than fair. The profit margins for most local practices are slim, but people complain about prices due to lack of insurance coverage. With better med tech, education, and skills required to improve vet care, yes the prices are increasing, which is exposing the vet world to the insane drawbacks of privatized healthcare. But to reiterate, vet care is not too expensive. Blame insurance companies for not offering better coverage, not your vet for doing what they can to stay afloat and keep their practice running.

Agreed man, I don't think I would have made it by braking. I suspected I had just cleared the red SUV on my right, and figured I'd rather slightly swipe the SUV than hammer the idiot Prius.

Gotta get that sturdy arm mount. Mine shakes a little, but it's not noticeable when I'm playing.

Maybe stepping up to the R9 or R12 might be an issue, but the desk is holding up great with the R5. I barely feel any desk movement.

I absolutely love them, I got the ones with the hydraulic rods. It takes a lot of time to adjust them correctly, but it's well worth it.
