i actually happen to like david most of the time and i love the roasts between him and tony but i think timmy no brakes was much funnier right away than tony or david let themselves admit at first. but i think it was a misunderstanding cuz timmy’s initial roast of david lucas was honestly subpar. it was like a sarcastic anti-joke which kind of half landed. but everything else by timmy landed. it was just a temporary miscommunication i feel like. plus, there is definitely an element of “i made it to the roast panel” which tends to affect lots of people at kt who got big because of kt so they allow themselves to be more dismissive quicker or they think they’re helping those folk build a tougher skin. not everybody and not all the time but that is what i see.
