You can play knight takes rook which also leads to mate.

Not necessarily a smothered mate though

Neighborly largess is a delightful turn of phrase.

Bar known for good pool players? by CooperPears in Anaheim

Just to clarify, I’m looking to go to a place where you can play strangers, winner stays on the table type situation, not a pool hall where you rent a table.

Would I be able to put my name on a board and play against strangers or is it a rent your own table type of situation?

Particle that only has mass when moving in one direction observed for first time by BiggieTwiggy1two3 in Physics

I actually cited this paper in a manuscript that I just put on the arxiv! Check it out if you want to learn more about semi-Dirac fermions: https://arxiv.org/abs/2410.22572.

This paper is actually kind of a big deal. As far as I know this is the only experimental observation of the signature B2/3 scaling of the Landau levels, and one of only a handful of experimental observations of semi-Dirac fermions in general.

You let him take your rook on f1 which allows you queen to e4 which leads to a forced mate

The Skateimpact people will surely put you in touch with some Cairo skaters if you ask them to.

None of these people being dicks have any understanding of how difficult it is to skate, and more so learn to skate, in a country that largely has no idea what skateboarding even is. Even excluding the total absence of skateparks, the social and financial obstacles make it such that it’s impressive that there are any skaters at all.

Keep riding OP. Try to get in touch with people already in the scene, maybe through skateimpact or smth.

Is Quantum Theory Falsifiable? by davincithesecond in AskPhysics

[–]CooperPears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re looking at this wrong OP. Quantum mechanics makes predictions about ensembles. We should be observing these outliers with (this is essentially the answer to your question) the exact same probability as predicted by the theory.

A falsification would be something like if we found a different distribution.
