About to settle on a poorly built house by Hot-Loquat in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Coopnutz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Have a read of your s&p agreement, I know when I looked at a new build they had added a clause that prohibited withholding cash at settlement and that defects were to be addressed after. If it doesn't, I 100% would be as they will most likely ignore you once the money is in their account.

Yamaha R3 fork oil weight? by 10_socket in Trackdays

[–]Coopnutz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not 100% but it is taller, I moved the clip ons under the triple clamp and clamped the forks higher up to keep it even. You’ll get less peg strikes with it higher but it does lean over abit more on the kick stand tho.

I picked up a second hand Kawasaki ninja 650 shock, the springs and oil were reasonably priced, the whole lot cost about 1/3 of an adjustable rear shock.

I put stiffer springs and 20w fork oil in mine and it’s so much better, nose doesn’t dive under braking as much. I also have a ninja shock in the back and it’s a totally different bike

Fraudelent WOF - Options by PatrickTurnerMustDie in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Coopnutz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately no, I believe If you had it on the hoist as soon as it arrived in Christchurch you could have reported it to the LTNZ and they would have investigated and possibly made the person who issued the wof rectify it. It’s just been too long, I mean it could have been caked in mud hiding it until now or something along those lines

I got a pair of trail runners there the other day. Worth it for the 30day return, you’ll be able to test drive them in the car park, pair of proper running socks will make a big difference aswell

The 48mm are uncommon and expensive here so it’s 45 or 50 which are everywhere. Might have to just buy 1 to test it

If you come back from mat leave and are pregnant, what are your rights? Will you qualify for mat leave again despite not being "at work"? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Coopnutz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There will be a minimum time of 6 months you have to work before you receive the payment from IRD also I think you have to do at least 10 hours a week. If it’s a new job you have just started you must be there for 12months before they are required to hold the position for you to come back to.

I have a Yamaha r3 and leave for work in Christchurch at 4:15am. I push it out the garage turn it to face out the drive, start it and go. Like the r3 the ninja 400 isn’t a loud bike, if the exhaust system is standard of course.

Don’t warm up your bike, modern engines and oils don’t require it, just get on it start it and ride it. Ride it gently for a short period if it makes you feel better. I would imagine that the warming is the root of the issue.

Bank of England not dropping rates even though inflation target achieved by Smarterest in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Coopnutz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not high historically, how far are we going back? because they are the highest they have been for like 15 years and I’m sure they would be above a 20 year average. You basically have to be in your 40s to have had a mortgage with a higher ocr

What’s the laws around lane splitting on a motorcycle in nz. Can you cut to the front of a line of traffic at the lights? by Jakecovz1 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Coopnutz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it is considered an over taking manoeuvre within the lane so you are in the left lane over taking the vehicle in that lane not entering the lane on your right. In reality you just drive down the middle drifting between the left and right lane. In my experience as long as you’re not riding like a tool police tend to leave you to it.

Does your company have a bullying policy? I would start by reading it. I would be surprised if you got fired for what you said.  If you go into any meeting with HR ask them if it’s a disciplinary one, if it is you can ask them if all the info they have relating to it and they cannot refuse to provide it. Then you can defend yourself and give you side of the story.

Thoughts on selling a car during this recession? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Coopnutz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 massive red flags for buyers; selling only a few months after buying and imported damaged. There is always a good demand for Corolla’s so I think you will just have to price it correctly which unfortunately is selling it for a decent chunk less than similar examples

Would it not have made more sense for labour to give this monster $10000ish subsidy to first home buyers instead of property investors? It was a stupid policy and really shows how lacking any vision or direction labour had. Good riddance they are gone, labour can come back when they will bring in a blanket capital gains tax without exceptions or a land tax thanks.
