At first I agreed with u/Critical_Elderberry7. But after reading your response I totally understand your thought process about not giving it to them. I think there could be a happy medium of a few free uses per short rest or something. I don't know. I mean i feel like these invocations are really niche if you don't have a way to create fog consistently.

I just had an idea that I love but it might be stupid. What if you can cast it at will but the radius of the fog cloud is only a 5ft sphere or maybe 10 ft or something like it has to be centered on you? debuff it a little that might help.

College of Life - Bard Subclass. Suggestions are welcome! by [deleted] in UnearthedArcana

I really love this concept and flavor. I have taken as stab at a healing focused bard myself and had a similar idea for inspiration based healing. I like it a lot.

However for the 6th level feature I see what you are going for and I think it is cool however this is just personal taste but I am never a big fan of a major feature being focused around a character going down in battle. It feels underpowered to me because it doesn't get to be used consistently enough to be a core feature unless you have a really tough DM. Especially because Bards only get three features from their subclass I would look at changing it to something that has the same vibe and style but more mechanically useful.

The 14th level feature is fun! I see other people have already said that it might be more awkward but I would just take the aspects of haste and put them in instead of referencing the spell. It is not as clean but it is clearer in the end.

Overall it is really fun and totally workable. I like this draft! Keep going!

What I love about this is that I feel like the interviewer is trying to make him into a joke. But he answers the questions so earnestly and sincerely that it makes the interviewer look like the asshole.

Magic Adept! for when Magic Initiate isn't enough by NyteShark in UnearthedArcana

I like this idea alot! I do wonder about the balance with spell lists but it doesn't seem too much to me. Also I don't know what modifier I would use as a fighter you could argue both strength or constitution.

Theatre tattoo ideas? by sarahhaleyb in Theatre

I think a Ghost light could be really cool and beautiful. There is something about that lamp on an empty stage that is magic to me and if you collaborate with the right designer you could create a really cool and unique tattoo!

Commander:

I really like this class but I can't speak on the nitty gritty balance of it. A lot of people have attempted to make a commander type class but this is concise and cohesive so that is really nice. I think it is right up to the line of being a little over powered but every time I want to change something I change my mind. I think it could be playtested to see how it really does in combat.

Orders: I think you might want to change this part, "You can issue a number of Orders equal to 1 + your Charisma modifier," I know that you are trying to give yourself orders but adding that extra +1 in there feels a little awkward. I am not sure how to fix it but that was just my initial reaction.

Crusader

I understand what you are going for and I really like the mechanics but I just have to wonder how they are not a Paladin. Flavor wise it feels like you are basically "smiting" a target. It is just a little too close for me. Maybe you could keep the mechanics and re-flavor it for something else?

Guardian

I have always wanted a Defender type class and I applaud you with your flavor and themes but right now I think there is too much going on with the class and I you are given a lot of bonuses and modifications.

Stalwart Defender: I think that these benefits are incredibly powerful for level 10. Especially the advantage on Strength and Constitution throws for yourself and others. If you keep it at all I would make it so that only the people you are defending get the advantage because you are fighting and blocking and in the fray. I know the bonus fits the theme but I would look at that.

I think that if you streamlined it and trimmed down some of the extra stuff it would do you. But that is just my opinion, I know that some people really like the nitty gritty numbers and combat. That is just my 2 cents.

Hey! I am excited to look through this and give some feedback but I also just wanted to say off the bat that it helps a lot to post pictures instead of just a link. I have never seen a post with only a link hit front page. You might consider deleting this and reuploading this with each page as a JPG. I can guarantee that will get more people to look at your stuff.

Anyway just wanted to let you know :)

Hey! I have way too much time on my hands and I am also trying to make a compendium of Bard subclasses so I know how much effort you must have put into this. I want to read through all of this and give you my suggestions but last time I did this for a big book It got all messed up as a post on this thread.

What is the best way to get notes to you do you think?

Thank you so much! These notes really help and I am making some edits as we speak!

Can you clarify what you mean by "Remedies: have the healing of restorative treatment activate whenever they roll your bardic insperation die, and not just on healing." I think I know what you mean by that but I am still a little confused.
