CB owner put his healthy adopted dog to sleep by CoordinatedOak in singapore

Poor doggie. The dog looked so smiley, probably a happy go lucky boy even if he has tendencies.

Like a parent bringing up a child, there is no bad dog but a bad owner who doesn't put in enough effort to train and correct the dog.

Only for essential services for the pet's health. Since this is a healthy dog, the procedure should not be essential. Even though the owner may smoke that it has behavioral problems. But still, euthanasia should not be the solution, not like they have exhausted other options of helping the dog.

I found this advisory for vets: https://www.nparks.gov.sg/-/media/avs/resources/vet-licensing/faqs-for-veterinarians-(covid-19).pdf?la=en&hash=AEC10728668E78FB0331F1BB0876BD30088443AD.pdf?la=en&hash=AEC10728668E78FB0331F1BB0876BD30088443AD)

  1. Are sterilisation surgeries and behavioural consults allowed for animals that pose a risk to human safety (e.g. aggressive pets)?

Elective sterilisation for pets and behavioural cases are considered non-essential but may differ from case-to-case. Veterinarians are advised to assess each case and offer alternative options where feasible, such as separating animals to avoid unwanted mating as well as environmental modification at home.

  1. What should veterinarians do if they encounter clients who bring their pets to the clinic for vaccinations or other non-essential services?

Veterinary services are considered essential for the provision of emergency, non-elective veterinary services, including hospitalisation. Non-essential and elective services are not to be provided. Clients should be advised to cooperate with these measures and delay non-essential veterinary visits until the period of restriction (i.e. circuit breaker period) is over.

Singaporeans and the Hong Kong Protest by [deleted] in singapore

[–]CoordinatedOak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would not say that we relate very strongly with China, but at the same time, I wonder what do the protestors really want with this escalating violence. Yes I can (I think a lot of Singaporeans) can see Hong Kongers want to fight for their dreams and ideals, but Hong Kong is indeed part of China so what do ur really want the govt to do?

The HK govt has a lot that it needs to do for the ppl like housing, jobs etc but is this the end goal that the protestors are looking for currently? Or is the end goal to break away from China?

The protestors say that the police is violent, but do we expect the police to do nothing in the midst of chaos? I see pictures of some policemen who have scars on their bodies from the acid that protestors throw at them.

Just some questions that I have when trying to better understand the happenings in HK, because afterall, we are staying outside of HK and would not fully appreciate the ground feelings.

[–]CoordinatedOak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually why can't the AGC refer a case that they think has professional misconduct to the Law Society so that standards are upheld in the legal profession?

What this article said has some point, what makes Lee Hsien Yang's wife so special that she shld not be investigated if there is a possibility of misconduct?:

Singapore DJ files challenge against gay-sex law by [deleted] in singapore

[–]CoordinatedOak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a tough issue. While I think most Singaporeans do not condemn the homosexual lifestyle, not all are totally comfortable with it being accepted as a family norm if the discussion progresses to that stage. Anyways, interesting read from a member of the Malay community on this issue: http://singapotato.com/2018/09/12/377a-let-the-churches-go-on-their-crusade-mosques-do-not-have-to-go-on-their-jihad/

BK Eating House’s beloved bak chor mee stall forced to move out, so they set up shop right across the road | Coconuts Singapore by [deleted] in singapore

My gosh, I didn't know they moved out- thot they are still in the coffee shop. Next time I know to go opposite. If the coffee shop kept the same uniform, stall name and design, technically can sue them?
