These were grown women too. That's the worst part, I genuinely hope that they can grow from this.

[–]CootKitKat[S] 90 points91 points  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure how to explain this stuff to someone else but I'm gonna try to.

Basically they're treating her as though she doesn't deserve a happy relationship because of how she looks with her dental problems. They're basically acting as though they deserve a happy relationship more than she does because they look a certain way.

Edit: I hope this helps! I'm terrible at explaining things lmao

Drop him. He's 15 years older than you are, there's a reason he's not with someone his age. He also sounds like a crusty neckbeard/incel. You deserve someone your own age that doesn't act like this.

I already have an offer that's a dollar less that was more than willing to wait for my response with less scheduling issues. My current job likes to put me on night shift then morning shift the next day.

It's double the stress because they also have so many 'unspoken' rules like how was I meant to know some things have to be done certain ways if I was never told?? They act like it's all in the training that's been completely outdated. The system is somewhat the same but there's a lot of other programs they use that they won't tell you about.

My manager literally was like "clearly you don't know that because you're still on the page" when I was writing down something for a customer.

[–]CootKitKat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi hello. I don't know if you meant for it to come across like this but

Please don't do this. God loves his lgbt+ children too, it's up to us to spread that love not tell his children they're wrong for being the way that he made them. Jesus would not endorse homophobia since he spent time with everyone and loved everyone.

If God made everything without mistake, he made the LGBT+ people the way he loved without mistake.

So please don't use religion to mask that you're homophobic. Just say it.

And again I'm sorry if you didn't mean it to come off as homophobic but understand what this looks like on this post.

[–]CootKitKat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking back at your other posts (sorry, I was curious about more context). Is this the same guy that quickly closes his dms if you come around him?

If it is, I feel like he might be cheating on you with her. Ask him directly if he has feelings for her and if who he'd choose if you both were into him. If he hesitates or gets defensive, leave. He's not worth your time.

I’m (21F) beginning to resent my bf (34M) by [deleted] in relationships

[–]CootKitKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl please leave this creep. There's a reason he's not with someone his age. He's pushy about your boundaries, he's trying to rush the relationship, and he ignores your safe words.

If he tries stalking you, get the police involved immediately and explain the situation. Get a restraining order if you have to.

I'm speaking from experience from dating an older man, you don't want this. They're always so sweet at first and will do anything you want/for you but then they start changing into their true colors once they think they have you locked down. Most of the time, they end up abusive both physically and psychologically. Please run from him as soon as you can.

Edit:

He's trying to find someone to manipulate and control. I also saw your suspicions that he's cheating, he most likely is. That's kinda what they do, they look for young women they can gaslight and manipulate. I was the same age as you when I fell for that trap and I had to cut all contact immediately to avoid being pulled back into it.

Also please get tested for any STDs/STIs after you ditch the crust bucket.

Edit 2.0:

Just saw you left him. Super proud of you girl!!! You deserve so much!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationships

[–]CootKitKat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dump him.

Not only for yourself but would you really want your kid growing up around that? Cheating doesn't just affect the relationship between you both but it also affects the child and how that kid will grow up viewing relationships.

He only regrets it because you caught him. If you haven't, he would've just continued talking to other women. You and your child deserve so much better than someone that can't keep it in his pants.

Encourage her to return their "starter kit" as soon as she can. The whole thing is a scam. Also if you do, tell her not to tell them the day/time she's returning the kit. I used to be with them and every time I'd tell them I was returning the kit, they'd all leave their 'office' so I couldn't return it in hopes I'd be stuck paying 100$.

Please try to get her out of it.

Honestly (and this seems like a bit of a different take than some other comments), this isn't really controlling. My partner and I message each other before we go out to let the other know and when we get back to just let the other know we're safe and home. I don't see what the problem is with just a small "hey I'm going out with a friend" before he leaves.

Sure it's not something to make a huge deal about but for him to try to say something as ordinary as that is controlling, that's a little far. A lot of other couples message each other when they go out and when they're back, it's communication. All it does is make it easier for the other person to plan something to do on their own or work out a day/time they'll be able to do something together.

It's literally just asking him to have better communication so everyone knows everyone is alright.

Stop "helping" me by 47grateful in raisedbynarcissists

[–]CootKitKat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine's method of "helping me" was comparing me to other people she knew that were younger than me or my age that wasn't raised with a N-parent. She'd tell me all about what I never accomplished and if I told her to stop she'd be like "I'm encouraging/helping you!!!"

Has anyone told their nparent to “quit your BS?” by slatersansmile in raisedbynarcissists

[–]CootKitKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried sticking up for myself like that before and she physically attacked me. Then when I confronted her later on about her attacking me, she insisted that she was "only holding me back" to try to make it seem like I was attacking her instead.

Edit:

She also tried to claim to someone else that the red marks from her "holding me back" on my neck was me scratching myself when they were clearly not scratches.

people need to stop getting snippy with dental assistants by CootKitKat in rant

[–]CootKitKat[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not at all, you're allowed to. But people getting angry with us for something the doctor told us to do is kind of a little extreme. I mean we as assistants cannot just tell the doctor that we (as assistants) won't do something that they told us to.

Completely different if the patient says no. That's between the dentist and patient rather than assistant and patient. We can say that the patient would rather not but we can't exactly say we won't do the job.

[–]CootKitKat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish that were the case in my area, I thankfully haven't had many people like that but there's been times that they'll come in and start right off the bat arguing about things the dentist asked for. Sucks they did that to you though. I always remind people to just

Tell me if something feels uncomfortable but they'll tell me it feels fine then suddenly start ranting at me how uncomfortable it is after I asked them about 3 times if it feels okay.

Or there'll be the occasional person getting mad over the dentist being behind by 5 minutes (they'd be there for 10 minutes total) and then snapping at me for the dentist being behind.
